He has said repeatedly that America will have to pioneer the production of hybrid cars and the like, which will create millions of new automotive jobs, as we phase out gasoline powered vehicles. Gasoline vehicles will be obsolete in the next 50 years or so, seeing as how virtually all of earth's fossil fuels will have been consumed. That's the transition he was referring to in another clip of this speech.

2008 hybrid cars only run about $2000 to $5000 more than conventional cars. You can receive a hybrid car tax credit of up to $3000 your first year of purchase! Not to mention the total amount you will save in gas for the year and years to come. There is no need for name calling. If a liberal is a person who looks for practical answers then I'll be that. As far as raising taxes, he is not. He is basically letting them go back to the way they were in the 1990's when everybody did well.
