what is dao? you can remove the x251 limiter by hex editing the exe (it was a programmers fault)

@jimday666 DAO stands for "Degree Add On". It's a common glitch to rotate a trick after you have hit the ground. Basically, if you hop on a manual really quick, the game doesn't realize you've landed yet. So you can do a "the 900" trick, then hop to a halfpipe and rotate it 720 degrees, making for huge points.

For the x251 limit, I'm aware you can hack the game to edit it out. I choose not to since strictly, that is cheating. It's also fun to have a limit to the combo, makes the lines creative.

@Icebears4ever It's possible to do it in all levels for the start of your combo, if you fastplant/boneless at the right time. Using a key to spin instead of the arrow keys also helps, since you can hold it before you leave the ground, and get the maximum spin. Get your special meter full and try it in any halfpipe, and don't try tricks at first to make it easier. You should get it at least once if you try for a few mins.

My average youtube viewer probably doesn't care for me to go in deph like this, but I will :p.

First off, people are getting the billions in other levels, not in Burnside. Burnside does not have these billion point scores because you have to use the x251 patch for that, which the burside level is not built very well to take advantage of. You can probably find a video of someone billing airport easily, and I would like to point out that they are different play styles.

The x251 patch allows you to go above x251 on the multiplier, which obviously gives an insanely higher score. The way Neversoft made the game, your multiplier stops at x251 and will not count up. Additionally, there is a bug when you continue your combo after you hit the multiplier limit of x251 that can be abused for a massive base score. There is also another glitch called DAO which I do not use in this video either.

Since I am sticking with the strictest possible method of gameplay, my score is going to be a lot lower then some other videos. This does not mean that their combo was better then mine, or immediatly that my combo was better then those billion point ones. They really cannot be directly compared. I of course believe that mine is "proper" since you have to use either a "hack" or a glitch in order to play the other styles.

The first result, 284m in Rio, uses 251 glitch. I talked to the guy who made the video, he was not aware of that bug when he posted it, and did not do that intentionally. Any video that uses a line similar to his there (going around the outside grinding) uses some sort of glitch or add-on to get higher then 100m scores.

If you are talking about the pl4yclan videos later in the results, they are very good but they are using DAO.

Since in THPS3 there is a limit of x251 multiplier, and there is a glitch that gives you insane score if you go past it, you have to stop your combo once you reach x251. This makes it so the best line would have the lowest multiplier possible, and the highest baseing tricks.

Because they aren't worth any base points compared to the grabs. The more you use a trick, the less points it's worth. With my current setup, I use each trick at least twice in both normal and switch stance.

The special grinds would only start at maybe 5k base for a grind, and go down from there, while the special air is around 20k base (base points are the first number, like 100,000 x 200 would be 100k base and 200 multi).
