Ever since the "special message" I am always trying to tell the gamers from the actors. I think I'm getting better at it. But Darlene, whats the deal? do you game or are you an actor? please tell me that you aren't someone who pretends to game.. thats as embarrasing as bieng Tom Hanks with a dagger in the subway. (yeah you know the movie)
sorry, sweetie. I'd didn't game when we started. I'm an actor. well, I started out as one, but I researched alot and I ask questions all the time and I guess along the way I've been dubbed a gamer.
Speaking of improv, I assume some of you guys have an improv background, and obviously many of your actors are actually *actors*, but what kind of theatre/script-writing/production backgrounds do you guys have, and what are you all studying (if you are, that is)? Well, that's enough of that. Hopefully I can convince my gamer/geek friends to view the PSAs so I'm not the only one laughing at "Sneak Attack" and "Hennet, Soooorcerer" at the bar. Be Well.
Maybe not my friends, but perhaps my coworkers. If I can get a staff of strippers to start saying "sneak attack!," it'll be my greatest accomplishment of the decade. Besides, when GenCon (huge gaming convention) comes to town in a few months, think of how many nerdy wet dreams they'll be fulfilling...hot chick gives a table dance to a 300lb. plague-ridden middle-aged virgin....and makes a D&D reference. I think the hospitals are going to have to expand their coronary care center.
While we've got the CJ team answering questions, I know that Clinton is credited as the writer, Wesley as the director, and Holly as the "conceptual designer" or something production-side like that. How much overlap is there? In terms of writing, how much is actually scripted for the actors and how much is improvised?
I agree - you guys make YouTube worth visiting! Love the commentary too, but I'm still waiting for a Bards vs. Minstrels D&Debate! Then again, the men in my life are looking forward to more Malcanthet - especially if she plans on more games involving burritos!
This series continues to be the number one reason I keep loggin on to YouTube. I would definitely be inerested in a compilation DVD. One question, though: ya'll mention that Ms. Hun is the only actor in this first PSA. I thought you guys were all in the drama program at Western Illinois? Is everyone else involved in offstage study?
They slighted Holly with that comment -- I've seen her onstage, and to exclude her from the Actor class is a disservice. (I'm not sure what level she is.)
First of all, thank you so much for the awesome compliment! Second of all, most of the people in the PSAs are actors, and the rest of them are actual gamers. This first PSA is an oddity, because it consists of only one actress, two gamer dudes, and a CreativeJuices member. (The wonderful and hot Holly.)
I, for one, love commentary. it beings a certain amount of extra knowledge into the original video and makes it even more funny. what makes it a lot more funny is because now you have more background on the characters and actors.
P.S.: do some ICW commentaries or just cut the commentaries out and put more ICW into the mix. Everyone loves them some ICW ^^
Well, I really loved the commentary. I think melaie's character is great. she does good a s the streight woman, you need that, everyone cant act crazy. Holly is great of course witht eh sneak attack. you never know hat is going to chatch on. Plus I liked that there was less cussing. good Video ;)

the Lidda in our party is always using sneak attack, in every battle, so sneak attack is very popular here too

"Sneak Attack!" has become a very popular quote at our weekly D&D game. ("Elves cause cancer" has also come up a few times.)

Lidda/Holly works the sneak attack like nobody's business. She's actually a history major who just happens to like theater. And Wes and Boomer.

Don't show these to your gamer friends - I haven't. Just use the jokes, and make them think it's ALL YOU.
Just . . . you know, my advice.

But yeah, neither Corey nor Kyle are actors.

Yes, please do more commentaries. It makes the PSA experience that much better.
