I believe this is the first KYW open in HD format on YouTube. First 11pm open in good quality, also. I would like to see WBZ get a good gfx package with helicopter shots or something, but with the same style. Sorta class it up and beautify it without getting in your face. And I'd like to see that "CBS Eye" in the yellow block of our logo switch to a 4, more preferably the Westinghouse "4". Staying on topic, picture works, I might rectify this video, too.
I'm glad KYW still has this gfx and theme package still.
Please WBZ, for the love of God - please take note of your sister station and get this graphic package and one of the better NG Enforcer themes up around here.
Actually I prefer WBZ's graphics and theme to what KYW is using.
The theme KYW's using now is awful. The newscast cuts are an endless droning loop, no energy or freshness. The promo cuts are a little better but still sound cheap.
There's an energy to that theme WBZ uses; it's simple but it feels fresh to me. I can't compare WBZ and KYW's graphics - both are completely different approaches. But I think WBZ's minimalist look is very appealing and distinctive and I like that better.
I like to say the Bostonians and New Englanders IQ levels are lower than average compared to other regions of the country with the "minimalist" approach. Bostonians are more "newsy" people who watch the news for the actual stories than the packaging.
Also, I live in NEW England not ENGLAND with what WBZ ripping off ITV's logo. Their Chyrons are a lot like a closed captioning like titles. And their theme package sounds very cheap with I dunno like 8 cuts in the entire theme it sounds like...
...And the "distinctive" is another word for "special" or "unique" that spells the narcissism of the Boston area. The majority of the Boston folks only care about Boston and not other markets.
They say Boston is totally different TV market when out of towners come here, and that's the "special"/narcissism kicking in. (I love every other big market other than Boston, and I don't proudly hailout from here, as I rarely want to say much.)
Also, what do you think about WCBS' use of their NG theme? It really misrepresents a good Gari theme in the largest market in the country. (Sounds like a NIF 2.0 with no reason to "upgrade" the theme package, hahaha, though I prefer the first themes they used in '06.)
It sounds horrible, and the graphics look very like an extension to the CBS Evening News - instead of being separate to the network level. Again, it must be the eye to the beholder - but KYW has a better packaging.

Or better yet, bring back the "CBS Boston 2000" Package in full use.

*gags* - If WBZ did that - I'd wouldn't ever watch them again.

Are you serious? I now, sir, consider you to have very little class. :D

I'm glad the current KYW open's on here, even if the audio is buggy.
Also, could you post WCAU's current open (I know their first HD open is on your other account, but I'd like to see what it's like now).

Noticing that. Hmm.
Again, it's a test.

Also the video is half the volume. I have my volume at full blast and it sounds half the audio volume my computer runs at.
