What Does Deafhood Mean To You? (Part II of II)

Hello, there is no deafhood. I have been asking hearing people, do they word for hearinghood? You know what they said to me never heard of that hearinghood. I asked hearing people do they word for deafhood. They said no, there is no hearinghood and deafhood. Because i never heard word in my life. I know You have sisterhood, brotherhood, meaning bunch of women ,bunch of men etc.. Common sense. That i know thats all. No offend at all. Just what i know. Smile

@SuperSleonard Deafhood exists within ourselves who are Deaf going through a journey on what it means to be Deaf, that's all to that. It is not a matter of a group who belongs to Deafhood. Please read the book: Understanding Deaf Culture: In Search of Deafhood by Paddy Ladd. Nothing to do with the level of higher/lower or even hate as your views are a bit way off. Yes, there are certain individuals who do bully but it has nothing to do with Deafhood but their extreme views.

Well done with Jon Lenois and the rest of that deaf hood are beautiful as well! I would love to share my experience as my life after 11 yrs old with deaf hood education. My biggest thanks to my two oldest deaf neighbors for what I know they molded me into who I am now!

I agree with Joey Baer...let's go for Part 3! Hope you got time for that....I saw in a comment elsewhere that said there's no people of color in them. It's not true but would be wonderful to have more so please anybody who consider yourself a person of color, send off to Barb a 30 second vlog about what Deafhood means to you...I consider myself a minority in the Deaf world too (woman, lesbian, Deaf parents) and I did a piece too... so hope you will!
