While I don't agree with their strict views, there is something that they are instilling in these kids. Self respect. When you are so young, you are still learning self worth. Of anything that the Pecks show these kids, it's to value themselves. Got to at least give them that. As far as the no coffee and tea, the whole concept is that they "the mormons" encourage non addictive behaviors. Tea, coffee, caffeine are all addictive. They encourage control of ones self.
