I remember the Brent Cross ad on Capital in 1976. My sister lived near Brent Cross and I remember going there when it first opened.
In the 1976 drought everyone was urged to use a small amount of bath water, turn the tap on and off intermitently when brushing teeth, using washing water for the garden and not to waste ANY water. What a summer - 3 months of no rain and sizzling hot every day !
And in the Midlands where I lived Beacon Radio, with its American sounding format, had just launched.
The Houndsditch! Warehouse!
there's thousands of bargains
just waiting for you
at our store!
This was probably the only late-1970s LBC link that didn't have a Houndsditch Warehouse ad.
