@ght6789we Check fmscan [dot] org for the times and the frequencies of different stations, broadcasting on shortwave! Very useful website! I listen to Radio Vatican broadcasts in Bulgarian (my native language) almost every evening (1920-1940UTC) and hardly ever in the early mornings.
My real reason for inputing Vatican Radio into u tube was to see if I could find the introduction music they used to play in the 1970s and early 80s...
I am going to Rome this coming Saturday, 15/10/2011, some 50 years after I first heard this ethereal sound over my short wave radio as a teenager in Shropshire. What a wonderful recording of the 'interval signal' that brings back so many happy memories of a world then yet to be explored. I look forward to hearing it at close quarters on FM this coming week!!!
I hear this interval signal just before 6am UK on 31m band shortwave at my home in Accrington Lancashire, then a hour of beautiful Italian religeous singing then at 7am UK three news bulletins and just before closedown at 7.45 you get another quick burst of this before transmitter switch off.
Very new to shortwave. I heard this two nights ago for the first time ever on my little Eton FR-250. Till then I'd only heard it on youtube videos.
Brought Rome to my doorstep, incredible.

The theme is the first bars from the Papal March by Charles Gounod. Sounds heavenly.
