  • Very new to shortwave. I heard this two nights ago for the first time ever on my little Eton FR-250. Till then I'd only heard it on youtube videos.

Brought Rome to my doorstep, incredible.

  • @ght6789we Check fmscan [dot] org for the times and the frequencies of different stations, broadcasting on shortwave! Very useful website! I listen to Radio Vatican broadcasts in Bulgarian (my native language) almost every evening (1920-1940UTC) and hardly ever in the early mornings.

  • @SWLDXBulgaria Thank you for your help!

  • @ght6789we Thank you very much watching my video.

  • My real reason for inputing Vatican Radio into u tube was to see if I could find the introduction music they used to play in the 1970s and early 80s...

  • @Jolliffesguy Thank you very much watching my video.

  • I am going to Rome this coming Saturday, 15/10/2011, some 50 years after I first heard this ethereal sound over my short wave radio as a teenager in Shropshire. What a wonderful recording of the 'interval signal' that brings back so many happy memories of a world then yet to be explored. I look forward to hearing it at close quarters on FM this coming week!!!

  • @waverleydrnikrap Thank you very much watching my video.

  • really nice interval signal.^^

  • @deathikxx Thank you very much watching my video.

  • Thank you for seeing my video.

  • I hear this interval signal just before 6am UK on 31m band shortwave at my home in Accrington Lancashire, then a hour of beautiful Italian religeous singing then at 7am UK three news bulletins and just before closedown at 7.45 you get another quick burst of this before transmitter switch off.

  • This is a beautiful interval signal!

  • @AnthonyUK Thank you for your listening.

  • Now this could be an idea for a ringtone :)

  • @kd4adv Good idea, but then you wouldn't answer the phone would you - you'd just let it ring? !!!!! :-)

  • @Jolliffesguy lol :) no, i'd answer it :)

  • The theme is the first bars from the Papal March by Charles Gounod. Sounds heavenly.
