Takes my right back to my school days in Clapton, hanging around outside girl schools in the early 70's - love this song then and now.A true reggae classic. Thanks for posting.
Right , conspiricy theory comin up, This was recorded by the Bee Gees as a bit of a demo, but when it went to no 1 the record co' sh*t themselves and had to get some black guys to fill in as last resort???????? post on dudes post on.......
? This song was written by Alan Arkin's dad in 1954 as an explicitly pro-desegregation song (which was more controversial in 1954).
If you scour the earth you can probably find Sammy Davis performing it in a folky style. I swear that I've heard it (my friend is a record hoarder) and it was recorded before this one - it may have even been the original.
Sang it in primary school! <3
We always sang reggae :D
