There are many difference between "Tibetan Lamaism" and the "Buddhism" practiced in East and Southeast Asia. Lamaism allows marriage, eating meat, relaxing on sexual desire, ... Lamaism practices "Esotericism".

The Buddha also taught of the Middle Way, between two extremes. Man is a hunting animal, just look at our sports? We throw projectiles at distant targets, we assemble in packs to corner prey, we have cunning minds capable of complex strategy. Also the precept says "refrain from killing" and "refrain" means to -avoid- doing so without forethought. It does not say "it is forbidden to kill, steal..." etc.
