I think on this occasion the Space Marines and Imperial Guard should have worked together after all the Space Marines supposedly only came to get rid of the Orks and Chaos Marines. I understand being at odds with the Sisters of battle as inquisitional forces are pretty damn strict and in Gabriel Angelos words about Inqusitor Toth "He is an inquistor. They suspect everyone of heresy". Supposedly 3 inquisitor factions forces exist Daemon Hunters, Witch Hunters and Alien Hunters.
I would like to see an Alien Hunters codex as apparently Games Workshop has plans for one :) I remember they said in a Whitedwarf book in 2005; "Codex:Alien Hunters (When it is written)". God knows when it will come if at all but they have implied they might make it :)
The imperium are fighting for survival and that is what i respect they fight as the heroes and i love how they are desperate defenders always fighting to the last man and this game is fucked up imperial guard and space marines would never fight each other while still loyal to the emperor the inquisition especially the sisters maybie as lets face it there all nuns with guns on their periods in power armour
I find the most races in the game Warhammer to be distasteful. Purely for the fact that they follow leader who have label themselves as gods. The only race lead by a deity that I have no problems with is the Necrons because, lets face it, they are freakin badass.
wat i hate about this is that each turn ur opponents unlock 1 new weapon per turn they make they also get a honor gaurd per turn they make even if they skip their turn i mean isnt that like cheating!?

Really? Five companies of Blood Ravens? Yeah right. One company would be enough to take the entire system. Kinda reminds me of the IG base where 100 baneblades were just shipped out. Relic really didn't do a good job designing this game. There's so much crap in it. Like if u look at the demonic acsension wargear for Carron it's description says "permanetely turns eliphas into a daemon prince." Only problem is that eliphas isn't even in the game. Not to mention it has so many bugs. What a letdown
Iron Lore was responsible for this.. Relic gave it to them to make (they were busy) but IL went bankrupt so it was shipped half finished and the developers were not that motivated because their jobs were gone.
This intro is Epic :) . Shame Ironlore was having funding issues at the time otherwise this add on could have been just as good or better than Dark Crusade. Ironlore just didn't have enough for another one of their projects and had to close down. Ironlore were great game developers but things just weren't in their favor when they were making this.
Ok I get why the Sisters Of Battle try to attack the Space Marines and Imperial Guard But why would the Space Marines fight the Imperial Guard; they had no reason to. I know it's for balance but it would be cool if the evil factions had other factions to help them I.E Chaos Space Marines working with The Lost and the damned because if things were like that we could have the Imperial forces working as a team for once.
The Lost And The Damned can consist of corrupted Guardsmen, mutants and other things such as Chaos Spawns, Imperial Guard Tanks. I know DOW doesn't have the Lost and the damned but they are an army that would make a fine addition to it. I'd love to see them and the chaos marines work together or see Chaos work with another chaos legion.
@LAND37 In dawn of war 2 Cyrus said that Boreale died and did you see the scout in the intro of the space marines stronghold the scout who talks to borele its Cyrus. If defeated by Sisters of Battle every space marine survivors will be executed and if defeated by The Imperial guard All survivors will be given prompt medical treatment and the ones who die was given honors
When they said Boreale died and that the whole campaign would not be spoken of again... I took that as Relic saying "Sorry about Iron Lore ****ing Soulstorm up."
the imperial guard wins because in dawn of war 2 cyrus suvived soulstorm (if you guys dont know where is he,he is in the blood ravens stronghold intro when he talks to boreale)

the tau only cleanse those who try to stop or deafeat the greater good. In the tau codex it says that it tryies to convert pple and only use violence if threatened. Also the imperium tried to wipe out the primitive and early tau 2000 years before but were stopped by warpstorms. The tau dont force pple to join the greater good they dont care about u aslong as you stay out of there way your good. Also there is no good or evil in 40k... just survival.
Tau is as bad as anything else. They attack against weaker imperium's planets and only wait for opportunity to strike. For example they often conquer a planet when they know that there wont be coming reinforcements in there because imperium fleet is battling somewhere else.

well the emperor have good a very good thing and very bad thing.. i begin with the good. he have put faith on his space marines. ( sisters of battle included) the bad thing is that he have not held the balance of the hatred of ig and space marines at each other. man what i mean is that IG is fighting to the death for the emperor but the emperor is like ''I dont care about IG much'' so the generals of IG is always against the space marines.
Let's just say that the Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines), the Adeptus Sororitas (Sisters of Battle) and the Imperial Guard are fighting mostly on the same side, but usually the Adeptus Astartes and Sororitas have certain reservations against the effectiveness of each other and the Imperial Guard and at times it is not uncommon for one to fight the others.

Iron Lore was responsible for this.. Relic gave it to them to make (they were busy) but IL went bankrupt so it was shipped half finished and the developers were not that motivated because their jobs were gone.

This intro is Epic :) . Shame Ironlore was having funding issues at the time otherwise this add on could have been just as good or better than Dark Crusade. Ironlore just didn't have enough for another one of their projects and had to close down. Ironlore were great game developers but things just weren't in their favor when they were making this.

Ok I get why the Sisters Of Battle try to attack the Space Marines and Imperial Guard But why would the Space Marines fight the Imperial Guard; they had no reason to. I know it's for balance but it would be cool if the evil factions had other factions to help them I.E Chaos Space Marines working with The Lost and the damned because if things were like that we could have the Imperial forces working as a team for once.

The Lost And The Damned can consist of corrupted Guardsmen, mutants and other things such as Chaos Spawns, Imperial Guard Tanks. I know DOW doesn't have the Lost and the damned but they are an army that would make a fine addition to it. I'd love to see them and the chaos marines work together or see Chaos work with another chaos legion.

@LAND37 In dawn of war 2 Cyrus said that Boreale died and did you see the scout in the intro of the space marines stronghold the scout who talks to borele its Cyrus. If defeated by Sisters of Battle every space marine survivors will be executed and if defeated by The Imperial guard All survivors will be given prompt medical treatment and the ones who die was given honors

dont judge the imperium to harshly, lets face it they are fighting for their very survival and although their stratergies may seem harsh, they are nothing compared to the ork, necrons, chaos or dark eldar.
orks travel system to system for their WAAAGH! and being a party of looting and beheading.
chaos kill to please the four gods of chaos, "khorne, nurgle, slaanesh and the aztec sounding one"

not really, the imperum is very dogmatic and racist, many are very untrusting of anything not human, the tau would probably try to seal an alliance but remember these are two conflicting empires, this is vital space.

the tau only cleanse those who try to stop or deafeat the greater good. In the tau codex it says that it tryies to convert pple and only use violence if threatened. Also the imperium tried to wipe out the primitive and early tau 2000 years before but were stopped by warpstorms. The tau dont force pple to join the greater good they dont care about u aslong as you stay out of there way your good. Also there is no good or evil in 40k... just survival.

Tau is as bad as anything else. They attack against weaker imperium's planets and only wait for opportunity to strike. For example they often conquer a planet when they know that there wont be coming reinforcements in there because imperium fleet is battling somewhere else.

While they may not just go "hey lets kill these guys" more blood is on there hands then the empires space marines, some of the bloodiest warriors in the universe. Is it so much better though? @Nejihygo actually the tau never killed anyone. otherwise they would have wiped out the kroot and vespid. the water caste negotiate terms with other races because the tau strive to have a diverse empire comprised of many deifferent species and they hoped that the imperium of man would also find it in their cold hearts to join the empire. what happened, the imperial guard just opened fire mercilessly and launched the damocled gulf crusade. so the tau THEN turned around to kicked some imperium ass

1. just dont bother with it (which usually happens)
2. smash them to kingdom come!!!

@Nejihygo dude you need to read the tau codex. the ethereal caste strive to push the empire forward in the name of all greater good. you would find the tau are infact a very merciful race who attacked because the imperium launched the damocles crusade because the tau were trading with frontier worlds. so the tau turned around and destroyed them. there is far more good in the tau empire and they are probably the most enlightened race. just read the codex before jumping to conclusions.

@Nejihygo what bullshit is in the space marine codex's about the tau? the tau ethereal's are basically the alien equivalent of buddhist monks. the tau seek to bring DIVERSITY to the empire and even went as far as to adopt imperial forces into it. but they used negotiations, NOT BRUTE FORCE. what happened, the imperium turned around and tried to destroy everything tau....because the tau are xeno, and to you young xeno races aren't worthy of life like the iron fist of the imperial guard.

Haha, good in Warhammer universe, that's a good joke. I would divide WH 40k races into psychopaths (lets kill everything!) and sociopaths (lets use any means necessary for us to prosper!) - and really neither of it fits the definition of "good".

Uhm, no one was talking about the Dark Eldar but they are definitely evil lol. There is an old saying that no one considers themselves evil, everyone for the most part sees themselves as the hero or doing what they have to do for one reason or another. To me, I identify more with the Imperium with the Tau. I guess that's what it really comes down to. The Tau are almost as bad as Tyranids in terms of no individual rights. At least Imperium has faith. I don't know.

well the emperor have good a very good thing and very bad thing.. i begin with the good. he have put faith on his space marines. ( sisters of battle included) the bad thing is that he have not held the balance of the hatred of ig and space marines at each other. man what i mean is that IG is fighting to the death for the emperor but the emperor is like ''I dont care about IG much'' so the generals of IG is always against the space marines.

Let's just say that the Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines), the Adeptus Sororitas (Sisters of Battle) and the Imperial Guard are fighting mostly on the same side, but usually the Adeptus Astartes and Sororitas have certain reservations against the effectiveness of each other and the Imperial Guard and at times it is not uncommon for one to fight the others.

noone in 40k is good. they are all dirven by either the greed or fanatisism you mentioned.
my own race - we are very secretive - strive for similar goals to the Tau but...less fanaticaly. we have defecters from all the known factions. mostly we recruited humans, as they are numourous and easily pursuaded. thank you for the couple of baneblades that defected last month.
