  • Ah kittens, I haven't been around kittens for a long time. Super cute little things.

  • i have 1 stray cat and her 3 kittens about the age as yours i was wondering how can i get them to get closer and less shy

  • @RileyKiLLaH We spent a lot of time with the kittens and we were lucky in that they were only partly feral. They never got over their fear of people in general but were good with me. One was always bolder than the other. So for me, it was time, lots of play, gentle touching and keeping their living space safe. Oh, and can't forget about food!

  • hi, i plan to take in a 2 feral kittens i constantly see on my street. i have been feeding them and i noticed that it has been fed by others too. what was the first thing you did when u caught them? my friend told me to wash them before i bring them home since they usually have lice but then i read from somewhere that its not recommended that i do that to kittens. i predict the kittens are around 6 weeks old.

  • You should not take advice from your friend. Cats can have earmites.. a problem very easily solved once you have them trusting you. A couple of drops of vegetable oil in each ear will quickly suffocate any problems in that regard. Don't waste money on prescription meds, vegetable oil works JUST as well... but it's not like they move on to humans, do your homework. They are not going to be a problem for you, don't listen to your friend.

  • I think that I might have over-simplified my advice... you will need to keep adding the drops about every other day... and rub at the base of the cat's ears... left/right/side to side.. it works it into the canal of the ear if you can get it to relax ... the oil will naturally coat the ear canal.

  • Oh yeah.. it is usually birds that bring on the mites. I get them all around my feeders, they bite relentlessly and you cannnot SEE them. If you are feeding birds, you might want to put the feeders further out from where you plan to have your cats. Birds are a major prolem for cats... and people when it comes to mites. YOU will not get rid of them without an exterminator if they invade your porch/deck. My stepfather is an exterminator and he swears by it. Will not TREAT for it. Mites BITE!

  • His advice: take a dark colored piece of paper and hold it along the area where you expect them to be. And if you allow them to remain, they will be visible along the seams and cracks in wood. Don't let them get to that point. Keep the feeding of birds and cats/dogs/whatever animals you feed - separate.

  • I know it sounds cruel. But if you do it in stages, it is not that cruel. Week 1 Back Patio same place food and milk and condition the kittens. Week 2 Food and milk at backdoor. Week 3 Bring food and milk inside and sit next to it. Be patient and have a book handy for waiting. By Week 4 the feral will come inside and watch you. Slowly pat it and befriend it. By the end of month if you work hard to gain its trust and confidence it will be looking for belly rubs and purring like crazy.

  • I fostered some 8-week-old ferals until they were tame. They were fiesty little devils, but they ended up being the sweetest girls in the world...

  • These girls have always been very gentle, but were very afraid of people and still have panic attacks when something spooks them. But they now are very good with me and get better every day.

Way to go for caring for yours. It can be tough at times.

  • The beginning looks like she or he is turning on the camera and going all, "is this on?" Hehe. So cute!

  • Thanks. They were less nervous about the camera than they were of people at that time. They are both girls. They have had no choice about getting used to cameras and me over the years.

  • I love all your videos! You're a animal fan!

  • Thank you, Valvedmute, It has been over 4 years now and those little cats still make me laugh every day.

  • Why is it in your bathroom, and aw so kayute ^^

  • Hi, sorry it took me so long to respond... Kittens were in the bathroom while they were in quarantine. They had URIs and we didn't want to infect our other cats. They sure were and are cute little kitties.

  • They're so cute,
