  • I found out I had stage 4 PBC when I was about 27. I must have had it for years but never knew. My itching was always the worst and it's what triggered me to the doctors. It took along time to diagnose though, I think they thought I was mad. I had a Liver Transplant 7 months back and now feel great and have no symptoms at all. I went back to work 12 weeks after and now I'm back in the gym and training for the 2011 Great North Run 13.1 mile. I completed it in 2008 and 09 so looking forward to it.

  • I don't think so. But I really, really, really hope so. Mine is on my legs and arms sometimes and sometimes stomach. But mostly my shins.

  • I was diagnosed with pbc about 12 months ago following cholestasis during pregnancy. the itching was so bad, especially at night on the soles of my feet and down my arms, that i was a physical wreck during the day. i am now on medication and it has settled right down. I only itch now a couple of days before my period. I asked the consultant about that and he said it was down to hormonal elevations and that if i became pregnant there was a good chance the cholestasis would re occur.

  • does the itching ever go away?
