I think pecking is a diamond dove thing, my female pecks everything (the floor, my face, my fingers, the other bird's feathers) and so did one of her siblings in the pet store
@sprinter136 This isn't exclusive to just doves... only male birds do this. And my Cockatiel does as well. Its some kind of 'mating' thing- or a sign of loyalty to their 'human.'
Pecking on any reflective surface for birds could be a sign of anger/frustation that the other bird on the reflection isn't responding to him or her, this isn't really a good thing emoationally for the bird : /
@EspritIsland 'Pecking' has nothing to do with frustration. It is common among male birds, and I think it is a "territorial" or 'mating' thing. My Cockatiel didn't "drum" until there was a female 'Tiel in the house. He sits on my shoulder sometimes and 'drums' away.... often throwing up and eating it again. Kinda grose, but experts say they are showin loyalty to their favorite 'flock' leader.
Huh.. Weird My Female Diamond Dove Reacted To This. Twice... Hm

Easy fix. Tape something non-reflective on top of the ceiling fan. The tapping will end.
