  • great episode.

  • Great video! Those STIs had small mufflers for some reason. Noise complaints?!?

  • @yourmomtookitall They're built to FIA Group N specification, which restricts the bore of the exhaust to 2.5"..

  • The only reason I'm not going to complain about the eerie dramatic music this time is the Twin Peaks relation.

  • Why are the cars near silent, rally cars should be roaring and popping,

  • @n1ght28 the drivetrain is stock. the only upgrades are suspension, chassis and body.

  • @n1ght28 They're Group N cars, the regulations keep them pretty close to stock with very light powertrain modifications.

  • You got subaru n12 and n14 nice

  • awesome, need more of these videos

  • Great video, thumbs up.

  • Lol, Matt..... Not bad for someone who is not a pro.

its funny how he looks pro with the gear and everything. and bucky looks like he is going skateboarding.

  • MATT! please more tuned imports..

  • I thought the music was a great choice. Subtle enough to let me hear the cars. I hear so much pumped up shit in car vids, as if the car or the driving isn't enough. The way you guys are doing it is the way to go.

  • I really am loving DRIVE, but please dont try and "dumb it down" for people who arent really petrolheads. Keep motorsport at your core for purists!

  • JF Music bro, come on. Great editing but really shitty choice with the track for the race. i had to ask myself if it was another practice run or if that was the race because the music was so bland.

  • This video would be so much better if it was in Wales and not Washington.

  • this was so awesome, i can't even believe how good drive has been (except for shakedown because i don't really care about racing)

  • This is my American Top Gear.

  • Talking about walk of shame.. hahaha nice vid Matt, too bad 1 sec cost you a nice pair of DC's. Ken Block would be ashamed of you hahaha

  • For Matt and the rest of the crew who made this incredible channel I'm subscribing. I've waited a long time for this type of content and you guys are delivering it. Matt you mate, ROCK!. Parentte, Harris, Deangelis, JF, and the rest also bring their own to it. It could be better without Alex Roy, which I'm not a fan....but for the rest of you guys Good Luck and hope you can keep the channel alive. DRIVE FTW!

  • @bmancodgta4 I agree, you're retarded.

  • Awesome.. well produced, great subject matter, intelligent interviews and quality content.

  • If i was matt, i would take my raptor out for a spin on that course, see how it compares to the rally car :P

  • @Mikelaren101 We didn't bring the raptor this time. We had a Dodge Ram 3500 Dually because we had much more gear and people than would fit in the raptor.

  • Great video, the drive channel is amazing!

  • this was cool. i liked the music too, during the race. and i have to notice that you don't link the subscribe button at the end and some of the videos also get left unlinked.

  • you'll also find some of the worst ski resorts.

  • I think I saw/heard Bucky hit a cone @ 11:10, shouldn't that have counted as a 3 second penalty or something? LOL

  • what a wast of a good pair of shoes! good show! is there anything like that school on the east coast?

  • @dakoffran the Team O'Neil school is in New Hampshire, but they only use FWD cars. If you want AWD you have to go to Dirtfish.

  • whats the song in the credits?

  • Good vid, bad soundtrack. Some pumped up music please not this dramatic or mysterious vibe.

  • Just shows how much racing revolves around money. I race formula ford and for everyone wanting to make a career out of racing its hard graft! But these extreme sports guys (who I love by the way!) have all the backing to get the best equipment and be competitive straight away. Its a bit embarrassing to see every old 'action sport athlete' racing rally cross etc.

  • @nbwinn if you want to get into racing, it REALLY helps to be famous first.

  • @TheSmokingTire Well I suppose they got famous due to their talent in other areas and it's amazing how quick they convert to rally cross etc, just a shame it is so money orientated. But thats what makes it a challenge. Was thinking of writing to Drive actually, I know Alex (big Polizei fan), you should do some formula ford coverage here in the UK, if its in the budget, you'd love it! Did my first International last November at Silverstone plenty of Americans from Skip Barber, you could have a go

  • @nbwinn lol, going to the UK is most certainly out of the budget, so if you want to see that kind of stuff you're going to have to talk to Chris Harris.

  • @TheSmokingTire haha, yeah you'll be pushed I suppose with all the traveling around the states! Well I'll get in contact with Chris even though its a million in one shot, but if you're ever over here for Goodwood (another great event for Leo or Tuned) or anything else you should check out the formula ford, ultra competitive and the real starting platform for a racing career. Wouldn't mind you having a go in my car! My site is neilwinnracing.co.uk by the way (not self promoting I promise lol)

  • This was good, some great shots of the cars in there. I would I have liked to see more of the instruction and the techniques they teach though.

  • What model Impreza were they racing? Because that looks more '98 than '08, although I'd guess it's an '04 or '05.

  • @flapecake Thats the 'Hawk eye', 05'-07' model.

  • @eatmydustdusteaters Got it, thanks for the info.

  • @flapecake we were driving 2007 model year cars, and they had some 2008 and 2009 hatchback STI's there as well.

  • Forest Duplessis - now there's a name you'd only find in the Pacific NW.

  • @flapecake Funny because he's from Maine. Boom.

  • @tserof207 Heh, same deal then really, just the other end right? =P

  • why was matt holding both hands on the wheel more often? i never saw him shift

  • @gainusha8g I only went into first twice, ran most of the race in second, whereas bucky went into third on two occasions and first on three occasions, so yea he shifted much more than me.

  • Cameramen need a bit of work, the onboard cameras let you see some of the speeds you're travelling at but the "drive by" shots almost look like you're looking for a parking space.

  • @Blogullupului Yeah I agree. I have been loving the Drive channel and Tuned but the camera needs some creativity. I saw a pedal cam but we didn't see to many shots.

  • @Blogullupului we had 3 mounted cameras fail on us during this shoot. One didn't like the cold weather, another on the pedals just recorded darkness, and one flew off the car and got run over. We're a bit disappointed with the shots as well, but when cameras fail like that there's not much you can do.

  • Awesome!

  • so close Matt!

  • AMAZING segment. I love you guys!!

  • Hahaha, "Walk it off."

  • So taking into consideration Matt's weight disadvantage, he won, or at the very least tied. They weigh car and driver, not just car. Other dude should have had ballast equalling weight difference which is probably at least 150 pounds! That makes a huge difference.

  • @bdub232 wow buddy they werent 150 lbs difference and they had co-drivers and Bucky's looked bigger so I don't think either had any weight advantage/disadvantage. Plus whether it was a factor or not doesn't somehow make him win. You're genuinely saying that matt really did drive the winning race, but out of all possible factors, out of the whole car, his extra fat made him lose? C'mon dude, that is retarded

  • Matt Farah, you are my gay crush

  • They shoulda straight piped these.. Woulda made it so much better.

This also made me want to rally my STi.. if I could afford the beatings on my daily driver lol

  • VERY GOOD AGAIN MATT!!!

  • I literally liked this video as soon as it started to get it out of the way

  • Twin Peaks is awesome!

  • Cmon Matt! Strong showing but I want to see a win next time!

  • Another great episode. Matt rule of thumb is look where you want the car to go 3 turns ahead and you will get there with the best line naturally. That's what it looks nlike the instructor was telling you

  • @kanundrum what about blind corners?

  • I'm surprised at how quiet the cars are. I kept waiting for the (fitting) music to drop out and the throaty roar of the Subaru to whisk me away. They must have some heavy noise restrictions to be able to operate out there.

  • @k2them not really, they are just stock exhausts mostly. A louder car there won't really help much, and it's hard to mic the exhausts on the rally stage because of all the gravel and dirt ruining the sound.

  • Great video guys! I have recently done a rally school in Australia. I had done some drift and track days previously and it's definately correct to say rally is a different beast. Such a rush and so different from a track, 80km/h on dirt surrounded by trees feels much, much faster than 200km/h + on tarmac!! What a rush.....

    Shit, now I wanna rally.....

  • By far best episode of Drive yet so glad i sub'ed

  • This was good fun to watch good work on the drive :D

  • Great episode

  • Nice I like this shit and I live 4 hours from Snoqualmie. Dirtfish here I come!

  • Lleva una bandera española en la chupa ¡¡

  • Matt too much on the brake buddy. Great show I won't be getting cable TV if FLD and DRIVE TV continues at this pace. Locked in.

  • It sucks they let Matt go from the Car Show, oh well, at least we have Drive =)

  • DRIVE is the best thing to happen to youtube ever. Can't express how much I have been LOVING this channel.

  • @pillarmusicrocks compared with what the UK makes, it's really not that good.

  • @GRBphotos What...like top gear? LOL everyone knows how good UK top gear is, but this isn't tv. This is youtube. And on youtube, DRIVE brings the most professional look in the most interesting ways.

  • @pillarmusicrocks not top gear. Evotv, autocar, autoexpress. etc.

I just find americans so boring in general and your accent is awful =/

  • @GRBphotos I'm persian, not american. I seriously doubt you could even recognize my accent if we spoke in person.

  • @GRBphotos if you saw their budgets ($1,000,000 per episode) compared to ours (wont be exact but it's in the low-four digits, not 9 digits), and you do the math, you realize that the kind of entertainment we provide versus the amount of money we have to spend is pretty impressive compared to a government-owned television show.

  • Honestly, Matt's run looked cleaner. Maybe he wasn't going as hard as Bucky. It seemed like Bucky was really pushing it. Nevertheless, great run on both parts.

  • @mrdragancelan I totally agree, Matt's car control and hand position on the wheel was alot smoother but I guess the clock dosn't lie!!

  • I see you've fixed the beard.

  • To dirtfish, I guarantee that part of the reason that gets people interested in rally is the insane sound that those cars make. Open up the intake on that STI! Although it would likely require a throttle remap, the sound would be so worth it, and make the cars much more attractive towards prospective drivers

  • I've got to say... Anything Matt Farah does ranks top on my list of things to watch! EXCELLENT Video!!

  • Cant wait to get some leisure cash to go to DirtFish

  • Damn matt he made you his BITCH on the internet for the whole world to see.

  • @barrinout I could have always just not posted the video if I was embarrassed by it. I think getting within 1% of Bucky was a pretty good show though.

  • tuned is so rad, its my favorite drive segment by far just good o'l car guy humor and content

  • WTF?!?! I live 30 minutes from Snoqualmie and never heard of this place!!!

  • not fair...matt was practically learning the track while racing...skateboarders always cheat

  • some reason, the video loaded faster in 480p rather than 360p

  • i love tuned

  • I get to go there in March so excited!!!

  • @DMikk11 better not lose any bets, you will be walking back in mud

  • yay for matt!

  • Great stuff Matt, like others said, this is hands down my most favorite segment on the Drive channel.

  • Is that subie gal@ 9:02 ?

  • @sarenasdaddy good spot, it is.

  • It's OK Matt, my feet are cold and wet too!

  • @TheSmokingTire Don't even listen to that asshole. This is some great stuff (and I might add, if you're going to get sponsored, it might as well be by some nice sunglasses company!)

  • Thanks Matt, another awesome thing to add to my list of things to do before I die.

  • I looooooooooooove Subaru!!

  • TUNED is by a long shot my favorite segment of the FastLaneDaily franchise.

  • @jvanegas14 well duh, it has Matt Farah

  • he deserves it for selling out to that sunglasses company

  • I used you live in Seattle. Now I have motivation to move back!

  • That was so... soothing.

  • Another great vidéo, Matt, thanks !

  • I live right down the street from dirtfish! its one of the greatest places on earth

  • Tuned has got to be my favortie of all these shows. Not only is the story always fun, matt is entertaining. One problem. NOT ENOUGH OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!

    MOARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! lol

  • Great video Matt!

Anyone know what the first song is, or is it an original piece?

  • keep it up matt, you got some support

  • Cool stuff, Matt. DirtFish is an awesome spot. Who's Bucky driving for in GRC?

  • @mpgomatic he's actually got a full ride from Subaru. He's running Travis's old car.

  • @TheSmokingTire Very cool ... three car team this year? Higgins, Mirra and Lasek?

  • @mpgomatic looking that way, yeah.

  • Great video!

  • LONGER VIDEOS! I NEED MORE!

  • cool stuff !

  • Good stuff, Matt.

  • Which one of these drive shows is supposed to be most closely tied to Jalopnik?

I remember them teasing their show more than a week ago as "coming next week," yet I don't think that has happened. Am I just misunderstanding something?

  • @legr8est1234 Jalopnik's working on its own show, launching in February. Stay tuned!

  • I wish I could do that, looks like a lot of fun!

  • The margin was actually closer than expected! That's only about 1% slower than the skater dude. Good job, Matt.

  • @bhegg i bogged really bad at the handbrake turn. If I had executed it properly, it would have been only a tenth or two's difference.

  • That was a great video!!! I so wish I had the funds to do that.

  • great vid! Would have been cool to see you both race through the old mill!

  • Very cool.

  • sweet stuff :) to bad for your shoes Matt :P

  • Looks like a lotta fun!! Not sure if they were driving the same car but did Bucky's car seem to have a bit more power??

  • @gillanjag we drove the same car.

  • NT matt lol

  • DC sneakers? May Ken Block be with you.

  • I did the 3 day event at Dirtfish this past summer this is so cool to see!

  • i like the music at the end,any info on it?

  • good job guys nice vid

  • keep it up

  • I LOVE YOU MATT

  • second?

  • yessssssssssssssss
