Flying Into The Storm

I have to own up to being totally petrified on an NZ flight in appalling weather on a Beech 1900. Swore never again, but oh well I did survive it.

If there were as many planes as their are cars, and if people flew as much as they drove, you could only imagine the death toll from flying. The ONLY reason people say flying is safer, is because the sheer numbers arent there. Increase the numbers to car-level, and then we'll talk. If there were only a few thousand cars on this entire earth, how many people do you think would die annually? mmmhmm

Must planes go through storms? Can't they just fly around a clear area until the storm dissipates

@dorourke105 no most planes do fly over them or around them. Not only moderate turbulence but icing conditions are a risk in storm clouds.

Why are you nervous about turbulence, it wont knock the plane out of the air of anything, the only ting you should worry about is both engines dieing, or the plane exploding, lol jk. Flying is A LOT safer than driving!!!

@interceptorcrj No, it isn't. Planes are in average 9 times as deadly as driving a car, except CNN released a report per 1 million KM, not passangers/trips, time, takeoffs and so on, planes are way worse than driving.

If you include the blacklist, you shouldn't even be flying.

@LasseLundster I mean your more likely to get into a car crash than a plane crash, planes dont crash every day, but thousands of cars do, If you want to be that safe than just walk or stay home.
