im african american and the first time ive ever heard quwali music, i fell in love with it! i was 15. especially ALI KHAN...even tho i dont understand a word of it, i guess quawali speaks to the heart. R.I.P. ali khan.
@ashlyallable you are right, may be songs have better lyrics and the songs you listen most of rahat are not classical. If we talk about classical songs, i think there is no comparision so far. may be in the future he will sing better them him as rahat is the student of nusrat fateh ali khan and he is taking his generation now. :)
sanu ik pal chan na away sajna tere bina.i don get a moment of peace without u o beloved.sada kalya ji nai o lagna ...i wont get my heart in anything without u o beloved.kise da yar na pardes jaway..noones love go to pardes(seperate country/abroad)..vachorha na kise de pesh away.no one shud face seperation frm bloved.rog wajog te sog hazaran sajna tere na de.thousands of sorrows pains of ur name.hona tadi roz qayamat hon vichre yar jinan de.everyday is end of the world who lose their beloved
it's not a joke to articulate an improvisation to such magnitude...marahabbbaaa...Sanu Nusrat mere Hindustan ko de do...sadda Kashmir le lo.....(no offense against anyone !!)
mashaAllah... i feel so great reading all the comments.. i wish nusrat fateh was among us.. great voice great lyrics.. awsum.. really he left us such a great music. jitni bar suno har bar naya lagta hai... very touchy lyrics.
@KHANUMT you must be istening to hindi more ...i am telling you bro i have heard every kind of sh*t..i mean gangsta rap to heavy metal...but michael jackson is the father of them all...trust me bro...he was a magic.
words are nothing to express the greatness of both the song and of all the artists, a rare group consisting of all star performers, Nusrat, Dildaar, Farrukh, all the best among the bests!
That is Farukh Fateh Ali Khan, Nusrat's Brother and Rahat's Father he is the Harmioum Raj Sahib or roughly known as (King of the Harmioum), he played with Nusrat for 32 years since 1965, after the death of Nusrat on 16th August 1997, Rahat carried on his legacy that Nusrat remains with his father for another 6 years. Sadly he passed away, he died of Debates on the 9th September 2003, it coming to the 6th Death Annsivary of Farukh Fateh Ali Khan the master of harmioum. May his Soul Rest in piece.
i have The DVD of this performance. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a greaat man. I am from Afghanistan and i cannot get enough of his enchanting Qawalli music.
One of my all time favourites. Fabulous, thanks mate for posting this. Great lyrics and sung to Nusrats highest standards. Dildar is magical!! Oooya!!!!!

is this song about a girl or God?
KatariaGujjar 2 years ago
Good point
I think this song is about a girl when you fall in love, but is also sad cus the moment you love someone, is either gone or died.
