  • wow it turned out looking great, i've never worked with applique before and this was very helpful, what kind of stitching function did you use on the sewing machine?

  • @sapphire8117 Hi! I am glad the information was helpful to you. I use a zig-zag stitch. Practice on a scrap first to determine the stitch length, width, and how close you want the stitches to be together to achieve the best look.

  • Hello! I need help to learn how to make a patchwork applique for the entire background of a pillow. Can you help?

  • @lrfolino I am not sure what you are trying to do but maybe you can just layer your

applique pieces and stitch them on as

you build it. The only suggestion I could

make is to stitch it lightly when it is under

an area to be covered up. Maybe just

enough to hold it in place, before moving

    on to the next piece.

  • thanks really helpful for my homework -- applique research ;)

  • Glad it was helpful. It is a fun technique too. Hope you get to use it sometime.

  • Thankyou for the simple video. I am excited to try it out on a sleeping bag for my lil 3year old!

  • very useful for such a complete beginner like me. Thanks Lynne

  • Thanks for the video! You might find it helpful to trace the shape to the paper-only side of the webbing and then cut out the shape. Then you can peel the remaining side and place it where you'd like. That saves you from cutting out the shape twice.

  • Excellent Idea!!! Thank you very much.

  • Thank you for the compliment. Thank you for watching the video. I am glad it was helpful to you.

Some type of fusable stabilizer that can be used with machine embroidery will help prevent the puckering around the edges of the applique. The fabric stretched a bit with stitching and caused the puckering.
