He is not clear that you should avoid having the ground cloth sticking out from under the tent. This is because rain will tend to run down the side of the tent, land on the ground cloth and pool under the tent. If your ground cloth is a bit too big, tuck it under the tent. As the previous poster mentioned, tailor made 'footprints' are a good way to go if you have the cash, otherwise you can easily make one.

actually all the campers i know actually use a footprint or ground cloth to protect the floor of their tent. Helps avoid sticks or rocks from tearing your floor or poking a hole. All I have seen from Expert Village is a farce. It frightens me that these people are "experts". Clean Tent? Camping = not dirty? this guy is nut job.
