ok ok ok what a package of rascals out there ...a gang of debauched dandies...and in the last few seconds the cowboy seated in the dark who drink the last beads of his bottle is so pathetically cool ... they're more on alcohol than on pot on this one... i will say a few bottles and half a joint....i like this scenario :) ... just at the moment this song reminds me another one about truck drivers ...the Byrds 1969 "Drug store truck drivin' man" ... not one of my fave songs of them for sure....

BJM is a good band. The Dandy Warhols are a good band. The difference is that the Dandies can make a living doing it. Atone has lead a hard life and has burned a lot of bridges.  Courtney has lead a charmed life and has made a lot of friends. One sells albums and tours with Bowie, the other doesn't.

The BJM JUST released a brilliant cd called "My Bloody Underground" AND are currently on tour with an outstanding young band called the Flavor Crystals. I Just saw BJM less than 10 days ago play a 21/2 hour concert that was BY FAR one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Isnt this "making a living doing it?"

I saw the Dandy's in Madison in Nov and they SUCKED, Simon/Courtney. Thank GOD Darker My Love and the Upsidedown played before them and were EXCELLENT! Train wreck saved by two lesser known but MUCH MORE BRILLIANT bands!

I think what satyr is saying is it's easy for unartistic people to trash art. For instance I can sit her and shit talk bands. At the same time I can't play drums, guitar, sing, draw more than stick figures. What gives me the authority? And yes hundreds of years of music criticism is invalid. Critics are a parasite on the music industry. People like what they like they don't need to bad mouth people who are actually doing things.

I agree, I love the dandys but I cant get into the new album. Its by far the worst step I think the band has taken musically.

All I can say is good job for trying something new, but I'll take dandys rule or auditorium any day over this.

Meanwhile Anton Newcombe has had a "re-birth" of a sort. Seemingly clean and making MEANINGFUL music, unlike Courtney and the Dandy's.

I have hope, though. I have seen A/C on stage in the past few years. But more and more A/C is a thing of the past, as are the Dandy's. Breaks my heart to say this but...

I have a theory about Courtney.

There are 2 Courtney's, Anton/Courtney(A/C) and Simon Le Bon/Courtney(S/C). Where Courtney so goe the Dandy's.

Depending on which Courtney shows up, that dictates which Dandy band plays. Lately S/C is on display. And as you can probably guess I HATE S/C!

I LOVE A/C! I love this band's stuff from "Rule OK" to "13 Songs" But short of a live show or two A/C is NOWHERE to be found.
