@gongolo65 I do agree with how amazing China's gymnasts are. There is no doubt that they do have some incredible skill. And it does make it fun to watch them at world competitions. But as for montages, I love watching the american ones because each of them are throwing such different elements. Some throw the arabian while others throw full twist. and each dismount is slightly different. I think they showcase the elements better, while china showcases perfection

I like your selection, however it does highlight how similar China's gymnasts are to one another. For example, none of them seem to throw anything but double pike dismounts. And they all seem to favor the flic flac step out flic flac layout pass. I tend to enjoy watching the Americans better based on the fact that every gymnast is a littler bit different. Just my opinion

@coreyobr You are right, Chinese gymnasts' skills are always the same, but their style, the amplitude on the jumps are gorgeous. I don't really enjoy Americans' work, cause they often look boring like Wieber or Raisman, but I like the way they try to perform different elements

Personally I really don't like the Chinese style. I think they're very robotic when they move on the beam. The only chinese gymnasts that are worthy of top 10 in my opinion are Yang Bo and possibly Liu Xian, maybe even Li Shanshan but I think there are way better beam workers than Deng Linlin. She does not look the slightest bit graceful and what's with the shoulder hyper-extension before she sets up her tumbling sequence.

I agree with Nastia and Olessia Dudnik. Very graceful. Catalina Ponor?

I got bored with this list after about number 10. Not that I'm saying your list is bad (for you), but there is an astonishing lack of variety. I would have definitely stuck with Yang Bo and Fan Ye, and perhaps Liukin, but nixed the rest of them. Li Shanshan? Really? She has potential but pretty much just falls off in every major competition. I would just have gone for more variety, not only of nation, but also of era.

The Chinese gymnasts are the perfect picture of grace, beauty, and consistency in the gymnastics atmosphere. There is but one flaw.

They all have the same body types because all of them are trained exactly the same with the same skills. This video especially shows it with all of them side by side. It almost looks like the same gymnasts all the way through.

If they changed their training habits, maybe they wouldn't all be the same.

I don't think they do the same things...

Even if they have the same leotards (I don't think so) I can recognise their styles: Deng Linlin is so tiny and powerful, Li Shanshan is not as powerful as Deng Linlin but is precise and do some difficult skills, Yang Bo is elegant, clean and quite powerful, Xiao Sha is powerful and precise, and Liu Xuan is clean and precise, Fan Ye is quite powerful and almost perfect sometimes, Zhang Nan is clean and elegant...

But they are AwEsOmE on beam!!!

Go and check Kui Yuanyuan's 1997, amazing work, even she was robbed by Gian Cogan, and check Mo Huilan 1995 and Fan Ye 2002, they brilliant.

Interesting fave for number 1. The think your faves are right on the money though. Its a simple fact, the Chinese have always been a cut above the rest when in came onto beam, but Dudnik is right up there with the best of them!!

Great montage. Great choices. I am also a fan of Chinese beam work. It's plain fab. Every Chinese gymnast in this vid tops my list. Deng Linlin is so talented! And of course, Dudnik is one of the absolute best on beam. I love Nastias routines when she hits-- I like her beam routine from Pacific Rim best.

the Chinese are great on beam, but there are countries who have better. Russia and ROMANIA for sure. US is iffy, we've got some good ones.

Carly Patterson would be on my list as well as Catalina Ponor and Nadia, Daniela Silivas, and others..

Deng Linlin is good, but in no way number one, probably wouldn't make my top 10 :\ but don't get me wrong she rocks, but she doesn't have anything that stands out.
