but now he wants to return to the car bashing action of Mad Max thankfully... he's gotten the green light on not 1 but 2 new Mad Max films to be made back to back...
and Gibson is now supporting it(he even attended a screening of the original film for the first time in a long time).

This movie isn't so much about crazy car crashes and stylistic violence, more than it is gritty DETERMINATION. Max has his ass kicked twice by the bad guys in the second half, but manages to stagger back onto his feet each time. That final shot of him still standing, as the camera draws away in the fading sunlight, is an iconic and symbolic image. For the viewer, that message can be taken as your willingness to sometimes just "outlast" the difficult problems that can and do arise in real life.

what amazes me is that both the yanks and brits make a very harsh realistic film about the effects of nuclear war...the aussies???...well there answer to surviving in a post apocaliptic world is to drive around the countryside on motorbikes in full leather clad bondage gear with an ex-brutalised cop in pursuit, oh and not forgetting some fuckwit in a gyro copter!. One thing for sure is you got to love the aussies for their warp sense of humour lol
@quesondriac - It was most likely the first edit before the sound was added and tweaked in post production. There would be other "differences" in the trailer as well if you look for them. It's very common in films, even today. They want to get the trailer out there well before the movie is actually finished.
