Indeed 40 series are louder. They gave you the ones to install on ricers. I just put some on my 96 gt and sounds greeat. I do have also a 92 5.0 gt, and I have some called flowsound on it. They doesn't sound as nice as the flowmasters but I was told they give you more CFM thru 'em, which traslates in more power. And I can feel it for real.
40 Series is louder, Super 40s are deeper and louder, Super 44s are supposed to be the deepest and loudest.

i have 50 series flows on my 92 but i want it louder..is 40 series louder?
