thank you for this post- i agree with the sentiments and I appreciate your approach. But the issues go to the purpose of the economy. What were the organizing priciples of the industrial revolution? Are those principles being played out writ large? Can the thinking that instigated the problems be the solution? Can a simple questioning of the purpose of the economy lead to a profound shift towards radical reduction in resource consumption? I believe so, but is it probable? I don't know....
