My friend quit his job working for a blatanly corrupt regulated towing monopoly in Portland Oregon cuz he was told if he wanted to keep his job he would be required to break laws that would get him jail time anywhere else.
The Portland Police said that local towing companies are essentially above the law, while his employer said towing is a necessary evil, that his sole responsibility was to inflict as much evil against people as possible, because inflecting evil is how tow companies get rich.
sooo....there are signs posted at these private properties informing drivers about the legality of parking there.... CUSTOMERS ONLY does not mean park there grab a latte then walk across the street to the bar...just cuz you were a customer doesnt mean you are... and PERMIT PARKING ONLY, or TENANT PARKING ONLY...reminds me of the song signs signs everywhere theres signs... your a dumb ass for parking on someones property and deserve to pay...bitches
Retriever Towing is a racket. They are all about predatory towing. They patrol lots and wait for victims to accidentally park. It's borderline extortion, and any local business owners should think twice before contracting Retriever Towing in Portland, Oregon to 'protect' their lots. Potential clients will have plenty of angry residents who have had their visitors victimized by this company. I suggest locals roll down their windows when they see a Retriever driver and tell them what you think!
