You guys would be completely surprised to know that I have ridden with Toby Dammit on the bus here in West Holly, California...Terence Stamps is a Green Actor to the end...and such a sweet heart...I just wanna eat him all up...starting with the head...
I can't wait for the English version to come out....I've been looking for it furiously. This is obviously the more intended version of "Toby Dammit". I love the great line at the end of the film, "I'm dying to get across", and that line gets completely cut out of the French translation! It makes me so madddd....
Criterion needs to put it out as the new 2008 version shown in Tribeca and LA. It seems like this is coming from a VHS. Am I correct?
@spycorgi Yes, what I've posted is an old VHS tape of the movie recorded off TV years ago. It was a late night movie. Parts of it were edited out. I've purchased a VHS and dvd version in the past and it's the French dub. I can't watch it in French! Toby sounds like such a wimp when he speaks French!
There is an English version DVD out there but I have yet to find it. Someone posted a segment of it on Youtube. He claimed that he had the French dvd, made a copy of it on his computer, and then had the correct English on his new copy. I have yet to try it myself.
The copy I have is in poor quality. For one it was recorded off TV so there are bits missing. The tape has also degraded over the years. If you check out what I've posted, I did upload all the bits where Toby speaks English. I think the only part that I didn't was when the plane is landing at the airport.
As his voice is one of his best attributes, I highly appreciate this :)

This footage reminds me of a Lou Reed interview from the early 70's. Maybe Lou saw this Fellini picture. :)
