  • If you use endorphins for self defense = super attack!!

  • Endorphins are released in areas of the brain that are centres of pain suppression.

This could also have important implications for pain patients. This should be a motivation for them to take up sports training (within their available limits)!

  • yeah I experienced it tooo in a morning a few days ago when I was running to catch the train

  • thumbs up if you have had a runners high

  • THANK YOU. GREAT INFORMATION, GREAT INSPIRATION.

  • In martial arts we call this "mushin" which means "no mind". It happens to runners because we practice the same movement over and over until the mind is minimally involved. Unfortunately I have never experienced this.

  • thumps up if u zoned out while he was talking

  • man ur very right, it is very addictive, before i started running i could not go a mile, 1yr now i am addicted to running, it feels good, and i cannot do without music, just watching some fitness videos on you tube makes me sweat and feels like hitting the treadmill

  • I felt it only once. I am going to reach it again. Its beautiful. Its been years, and I need to build my cardiovascular health back up again. Going to take some months, but its worth it.

  • sounds like my experience sprinting when i hit my stride. Long distance i just can't do it though lol

  • Why don't I ever feel good when I run? Is it different for un-fit people? I want to get to the stage where running feels good cos exercise used to be fun, but not anymore cos I became so un-fit

  • This is very inspirational. Thank you for sharing!

  • fuck a random wind storm

  • put another dime in the jukebox baby.

  • Everything I do in life relates to my legs. When I'm running I'm happy. It makes my focus shift if I'm dwelling on something that might cause stress. I can just let it all out. Throw in a healthy diet and you have a prescription for a long-life.

  • do the great north run in north east england :D

  • i feel really good right now. ive been eating healthy, and now i have a flood of endorphins, feel more relaxed.

  • If you like how a runners high feels, you'll LOVE weed

  • @soLhunteR1 lol...true, true

  • @soLhunteR1 lol

  • A Runners High gives you the same high as if you were smoking marijuana but in a lower "dose", u could say. Just imagine if you smoke marijuana you could get the same feeling but enhanced about 100 times. Marijuana contains a chemical which substitutes for a natural brain chemical, with a few differences. This chemical touches special `buttons' on brain cells called `receptors.' Essentially, marijuana `tickles' brain cells, and gives you the same high but enhanced.

  • im going thru opiate withdrawal real bad. the physical pain is almost completely over but the depression is still bad. This is good advice, because when in an opiate withdrawal, you stop producing endorphins because the opiate takes their place.... this is good advice to get the endorphins to return quicker and end this despression

  • Ive had a runners high once and it was running for an hour so a agree with YouNoop. It was the best feeling in the world.

  • lol runner high on speed workout???? thats a lie!

  • too true. oh, and younoop stated the scientific reason too, which makes sense.

thanks for the tips from your videos im an amateur, i run 2 to 3 miles for fun, more when needed. i have to watch out though, because i lose weight when i run, which i do not want to lose weight. lol

  • you need to run over 1 hour or--> your body can produce its after 30minutes with lower dose, it trys to compensate the stress its "body-made" morphin which works like painkiller...it happens when a lion bite off your arm or in car-accident if you loose any part of the body or have very stressful situation

  • Hey, I've got a question.

I understand you run alot of marathons -

What is your average speed usually when running a marathon? (In kmp/h if possible)

Seems like it would be hard to maintain a "high" speed after 5 or 10 km.

  • yeah felt this high when coming to the end of a fun(15km) run and for some strange reason from last km i just sprinted and hammered it very hard just ran like a man possessed just moving like a machine pure focus

  • runners high is awesome

  • i enjoy runners high

  • i love that feeling, but i acuall get a feeling of complete euphoria and ecstacy. i fucking love it lol.

  • This is true. Very true. I experienced it but I did not know it had to do endorphins. My eyes will focus on a distant object, I feel like I lost command of my swinging legs and arms and get into a trance mentally. Its almost like I am asleep but my muscles somehow know what to do in the running motion. Very true.

  • @lamrof I know EXACTLY what you're talking about.

  • Oh really? Why is it when I am at the 30 plus km mark in the marathon I feel so shattered and depleted and then I as k myself what does endorphins means once again?

My legs weigh a ton and I want to declare roadrage!!

Where the hell is Endorphins when you need it most!!!! hahaha

  • @timtufuga you get it when you think you literally are going to die right then and there. it comes out of nowhere.

  • I try to picture myself in the movie apocalypto, when the main dude was being followed by the mayans, oh yeah that motivates me.

  • i am high when i run also!

  • lol

  • the word marathon temporarily lost meaning

  • hehehe what a cool dude

  • I know what your talking about but my "high" does't last long.

  • good tips and all but where did your clothes all go?

  • Cheers for the videos' mate, very inspiring. You should come over and run the London marathon!
