  • Thank you so much for posting this clip.... this is wonderful!!!

  • That's Itzchak Perlman in the beg of the clip!

  • Comment removed

  • His mannerisms are perfect. I especially love the "Eh-helloooo!"

  • Świetne!

  • And how Obnoxious are you, MrGrevy? By the way, what does your "Mr" stand for -- "Mamzer"?

  • Fyvush Finkel contributes to human happiness; apparently MrGrevy has very little happiness of his own. Otherwise he wouldn't need to parade his bigotry and ignorance on Youtube. I'd advise him to see a shrink but my guess is he's a hopeless case. Anyway, a Jew (Freud) invented shrinking- and no doubt MrGrevy has a problem with that.

  • Fyvush's performance is at the Baruch Performing Arts Center at Baruch College.

  • I just saw Fyvush Finkel Live at the Folksbiene in New York. Still amazing at 88 ..

  • Excellent performance by Fyvush Finkel and Red Buttons

  • I met his percussionist grandson, Abbot on a cruise ship in barcelona where we both worked. He's quite a character as well.

  • When you explore YouTube, you come accross some real gems ... like this one. There aren't many old-time Yiddish performers around anymore, and this reminds us of how entertaining and animated they were.

  • I don't know what to say... :)

    Amazing!

  • Absolutely charming! I've admired his work for a long time. Thank you!

  • i worked in the mountains with fyvush and many other great comedians (jackie mason, etc0 he's the best !!!!!

  • @178music Were you one a Borscht Belter?

  • @178music SURE you did!

  • Weasel.

I don't even have a comment for ya.

  • I love Fyvush and I miss Red Buttons. This made my millenium!

  • Oy vey! this really made my day- thanks for sharing!

    AZOY !

  • good performance

  • I understand that this music may be important to a few people and I don't know if you'll think I'm disrespecting it from this comment... but boy, I sure do love his dance moves. And his facial movements. I liked it.

  • Does anyone get how extraordinary this is? Finkel is one of the few remaining representatives of a great and wonderfully irreverent musical and theatrical tradition, and he brings it alive in this short clip. Adamwas should know already that the Yiddish version is different--and untranslatable--but the song speaks precisely to the conditions of immigrant life at a time when Yiddish Theaters lined Second Avenue.
