  • gwen from torchwood sings this

  • anyone else is feeling ...a bit..sleepy.....Zzzzzzzzz

  • wonderful! Just wonderful!!

  • help, I am getting in sleepp..zzz

  • I sang on the soundtrack to Season 2 and 3 and the lyrics were largely gibberish, just sounds that were good phonetically with the music. There were some old English words chucked in but a lot of the time it was nonsense. There were also some cues with Latin words eg Gaius Arraigned from Season 2.

  • ΑΠΛΑ ΠΡΟΣΚΥΝΩ.ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΙΚΗ ΜΑΓΕΙΑ

  • i'm not sure about this, but apparently the lyrics translate into something like: lovely night has come to us lovely night, soft and dark the lovely night that ends a long and hard, weary day so rest... lay your body down forget your life spiders of the night come, spin your silky webs spiders of the night come, bind them in their sleep now spiders of the night, spin! wrapped in your shroud dead to the world... just like my son: dead, dead, dead, DEAD!
  • I love Eve Myles she is so cool and welsh! Is she actually singing this? X

  • @RominaPond nope

  • [SOPA has deleted this comment.] *SHOW* Fuck Sopa and Pipa!!!! :L

  • @willandbethy I doesn't look like Welsh and no translators pick it up :/

  • There's something very Rivendell about this at the start :L I love it! <3

  • I absolutely adore Merlin... But I have got to say... Arthur.... sometimes... he really, REALLY an truly makes me.... damage things. -______-'

The way he treats Merlin sometimes makes me just but my head on my desk =___=. I just wanna reach through the screen and drive my foot straight up his royal blonde arse!! Damnit!! Such a freaking Clotpole prat! *sigh* But ya still gotta love him.

  • I just woke up covered in cobwebs.

  • Merlin is sooo cute. Great show

  • 7 people wants Morgana to be queen

  • @MsTypicalme The reason Merlin didn't fall asleep was because he noticed people started to fall asleep and so he covered his ears.

  • @SheFoxAnya Shh.

  • @SheFoxAnya He also had more resistance to the magic than the others..

(otherwise someone else could've reacted in the same way)

  • 7 people have never watched this awesome, spell binding movie before.Booo!!!!!

  • Lord of the ring, when Aragaron show to Frodon the two kings at the end of the river!

  • @Cdricmen

I think you mean the Falls of Rauros and the kings of Argonath, but that soundtrack has little resemblance to this particular soundtrack. I think it more so resembles the arrival at Rivendell, if you cut out the vocals though (from about 0:42 onwards)

  • @melvinhendrikse

Oh no, how stupid of me. But I do remember now, it was certainly was at Rivendell, but it was another scene. The scene in which Arwen recited a few lines from a poem: 'from the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring, renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king'.

  • GORGEOUS! BRILLIANT! AMAZING! SPECTACULAR! BREATHTAKING! SUBLIME! LOVELY! what more is there to say?!

  • lovely night has come to us lovely night, soft and dark the lovely night that ends a long and hard, weary day so rest... lay your body down forget your life spiders of the night come, spin your silky webs spiders of the night come, bind them in their sleep now spiders of the night, spin! wrapped in your shroud dead to the world... just like my son: dead, dead, dead, DEAD!
  • The lyrics are nonsense, made up to sound right. The song is supposed to be about the hurt of a mother who has lost her son."

Maybe the lyrics are nonsense or maybe they mean

  • @wiccanbrat I think it's in welsh xx

  • this song is sooooo dramatic!!!

  • im listening to this song again lol

  • @seyin800 yeah, the writers have the spells translated into old english, so that they are accurate. they said they wanted them to be how merlin would actually speak in the time period it's spose to be set it.

  • i wish i knew the actual (made up) lyrics. i want to learn this song and sing it, but it's hard to do when it's gibberish that i can't find written. never was good at just learning by ear. anyone know where i can find such lyrics?

  • This song is awesome, im relaxing when i listen this.

  • @Fmafreak @TheNathan345 actually, the words are really just gibberish. the spells are all old english, but this they just made up.

  • @KMSDustmop really it's old english? somethimes it sounds kind of dutch ^^ i guess thats normal then...

  • so pretty.... o-o

  • by the way cant wait for season 4 of merlin i love this show and its soundtrack

  • @TheNathan345 no one can wait.... and they just had to make it such a long one...

  • @SenurePapere The longer the wait, i guess that means the writers have something awesome coming. I hope its good and ive been watching the other new series called Camelot (2011) and its kind of confusing me with this series. Merlin is way better then Camelot (2011) series its because of Doctor Who we have to wait so long for series 4 of Merlin. And im a Doctor Who fan as well.

  • Maybe the lyrics are nonsense or maybe they mean: lovely night has come to us lovely night, soft and dark the lovely night that ends a long and hard, weary day so rest... lay your body down forget your life spiders of the night come, spin your silky webs spiders of the night come, bind them in their sleep now spiders of the night, spin! wrapped in your shroud dead to the world... just like my son: dead, dead, dead, DEAD!
  • so haunting, i love it

  • Only one word for this song EPIC!!!

  • Enchanting song, im falling asleep God... :) hahaha!!!

  • There is a Rivendell theme from 0:41.

    Gosh, this music is awesome!

  • @SpareXXXX Yahum :) I have the sheet music from Fellowship of the Rings - the piece is called Many Meetings, and it's beginning passage is very similar to the beginning of this song :)

  • Attempt to kill Arthur...epic fail...thanks to Merlin...and the legend begins!

  • "Blah khien barrah fweelah,

  • @TheNathan345 can u translate it?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAvalonson the words are basically gibberish i don't think its an actual language i listened to this like a million times its one of my fave songs its jjust so enchanting.

  • @TheNathan345

Actually, the language is a form of Old English/Welsh.

  • @Fmafreak oh thanks for the info

  • @TheNathan345

    No problem. C:

  • @TheNathan345 Do you know what it means in English? :)

  • this is why I love Merlin. The show is so enchanting and addicting!

  • I'm just gonna take a nap.

  • is there a lyric for this song? or are them just invented words?

  • please tell me how can i find music like this, what is the name of genre? thanks for answers

  • @dalbaebism Generally, this is just known as "classical soundtrack music". Also, "classical choral"

If you are interested in similar ones, try:

(From Film): Lord of the Rings [very similar, the best you'll find], Pirates of the Caribbean, anything by James Newton Howard, Alexandre Desplat, "Requiem for a Dream"

(From TV): Legend of the Seeker Soundtrack, The Tudors (also very similar)

(In general): Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, Mozart's "Requiem in D", anything by Gustav Mahler

    Good luck! =D

  • @dalbaebism Oh! I knew I was missing one - Chronicles of Narnia is excellent (and anything by it's composer, Henry Gregson-Williams)

  • This song is so enchanting. Every time I listen to it I feel enchanted.

  • i love this scene. and the song

  • @IkBenEenKnoop you're dutch?? XD

  • @marlieswolf96 yeah.....why?

  • @IkBenEenKnoop ik ben ook nederlands :)

  • 并不好听啊

  • the beginning is so close to spellforce o.o

  • who is the singer??

  • I'm trying to find other vocal music like this. There is a fairly close one at the end of Richard Strauss's opera Daphne. You can buy the two parts for .99 each at Amazon.com: "Strauss +Daphne +Fleming, the numbers 3 & 4 on Disc 2. I'd sure like to find others.

  • i was sooooo glad you can buy this on itunes, i really wish you could download utube videos on to ipods

  • I really like it. But it's basically a "stronger"sounding version of LOTR's Many Meetings off the soundtrack. Many Meetings doesn't have an operatic voice but a choir and lacks the climax this piece has. The chord progressions and atmosphere though...it's almost entirely a shameless copy. :P Still like it though.

  • @Laerlend

Yes, I agree with you. When I first heard it, I immediatly made the link with the LOTR soundtrack.

  • i reallt like this song and if u can also let me know when it first premers plz plz plz? thanks

  • merlin's soundtracks are all awesome and this one is one of the best....!

  • this is one of the two songs from Merlin that i can never forget..

  • @fierra07 whats the other song?

  • @mattrc2 that would be the song that they played wen arthur and gwen had their first kiss.. any idea wad song is it?

  • i love this song as much as i like merlin and all of his episodes. If you share the same opinion and you dont mind, visit my channel and leave a comment with any contain

  • this song is so good i wanna all asleep now

  • @starcraft411 Yeah, funnily enough if you saw the episode it was supposed to put everyone in the room to sleep ^^

  • well this is actually quite the nice show i saw them on a british channel and its pretty good all download them

  • this reminds me of the song which was in 'Heroes Of Might and Magic 5'.. it was called 'Haven'

I love these songs which are based in fantasy universes!

  • Jonathan Rhys Meyers could be his father.....

  • Um.... What are the lyrics to this? I know it is a requiem to steal the soul, but the exact termology eludes me...

  • where can I get the lyrics from?

  • No its not Eve Myles singing, shes just miming. lol. The singer is called Emma Brain-Gabbott! =D

  • Comment removed

  • Bethan932 i was there when she sang is cause i was one of the 7 music editors in that production so i don't know where you got Emma Brain-gabbott from.

  • This is Just beautiful.....

  • totally agree

  • Who is singing this? I dunno if its the actress, but I kinda doubt it. Though its not entily unlikely.

  • OMG!!! Wow...talk about beautiful I feel like I'm melting!

  • @SwordmaidenGwen uh oh that's bad...

  • This is in A

  • The language is actually Latin!

  • Wow!

  • what does it mean?

  • @Ackbarfangirl it's a requiem, she is singing a lullaby to make them go to sleep, but the 'requiem' is a song sung to the spirits aka those who are dead. So she is singing to them hoping to kill them, however Merlin stops her thankfully :D

  • I have to say the inclusion of this song in the first episode is quite a way to impress. Beautiful song - feels like it should be in a Lord of the Rings soundtrack or something. Merlin is amazing!

  • I thought it sounded lord of the rings themed;) it is amazing

  • @b3witch3d OMG, I'd never thought of that before, but I argree. It's like the sort of tune that should be near 'The End Of All Things' That just makes this tune even better though, with the slight elvish type thing to it :)

  • @footymaster95 :) it does dosent it? this has to be my fav Merlin soundtrack song.

  • @b3witch3d

yes! when they arrived in Lothlorien, right? xD ;)

    love this one *-*

  • Gosh I'm so curious about the language, it doesn't seem to be Welsh/Gaelic or something like that but I wonder what it is! I don't think it's made up for the series though...any thoughts about it?

  • mp3

  • can u help me plz

  • Is it a lullaby?

    Sounds great.

  • No way is this Eve Myles singing? Blimey! If it is her then - OMG! I had no idea she could sing! If it isn't Eve Myles - who is it?

Fantastic - and it sounds like Lord of the Rings! I thought I was going mad when I heard it first then I scroll down and see the comments and phew - it is like 'Lothlorien'. Beautiful nonetheless. I'm Welsh, I speak it fluentley - its my native language, but I don't think this is being sung in Welsh, though I can't really make out the words.

  • i think it is the old english they use for the spells

  • No its the sopranist named Emma Brain-Gabbott.

  • Ah, thanks for clearing that up! =D

  • Can you send me this song? I love it!

Eve Myles is sooooo awesome, and so is Merlin!!!

  • I really like the song.

But I can't find it anywhere to download, I want it on my I-pod.

Sorry for my bad english sometimes, I'm from the Netherlands.

  • can you send me this song plz?

  • This sounds so much like the part in Lord of the Rings when the fellowship enter Lothlorien. At least, I think that's the part, it's been a while since I've listened to the soundtracks or watched the movies. Anyway, it's beautiful.

  • OMG! yes, i was just thinking the same thing!

  • there at the beginning ;) it sounds like ;))

  • see see i'm not the only one who thinks this....haha i though it too....but didn't know which part....thx :P

  • WHO sings this? What is her name? What other works has she done? Is she a well known opera singer, or perhaps somone less renowned?

  • The woman singing is Eve Myles, a Welsh actress. She is Gwen Cooper in Torchwood and Doctor Who.

  • yes this is the Welsh language.

  • Where are the lyrics to this song? I can't find any! I love to sing in diff. lanquages like Latin but this is Weslh...

  • Yes it's sung in welsh; but ancient celtic welsh not the current language :]

  • It's singing by Emma Brain-Gabbott - Eve Myles was only the actor, and I think the language is Welsh, but I cannot find any lyrics :-/. Great song!

  • A beautiful and powerful song. Captivating. I love all of the music from Merlin. Great show too.

  • I love it <3

    Such a beautiful song!!

  • who does the cd say sings it?? i heard it was the actress eve myles

  • I'd really like to have thy lyrics, but recognise some latin in there. Is it possbly it's a mix?

  • where can I find the lyrics of this? I really love it...it's so captivating.

  • can you send me the soundtrack please?

  • me too

  • Me To

    xoxo

  • J'adore cette musique ! Elle est envoûtante et puissante ! Beau travail de Rob Lane ! ;)

  • Okay, so I know that this is probably a really stupid question, but does anyone know when the premier date for this is in the US? I know that NBC bought the rights, but for the life of me, I can't find the date!
