Eh, Meredith made shutterfly great, and she knows that horse in and out. Los had Cumano and no one could ride that horse like him. It's just trade offs, in this day and age meredith is more popular and is more decorated than Jos is currently.
Gosh, Shutterfly is beautiful. I was lucky enough to go to the FEI World Cup Finals and watch Merideth win. Wow, Jos looks so diffrent on Shutterfly! =)
dont critisize meredith, she is a great rider, she won the world cup with shutterfly. jos is good too though. why say one is better than the other? shutterfly is great with both of them, because he is a great horse, and they are both great riders
It took Meredith two months to get Shutterfly's confidence in her back - there was a three page interview with her in Horse and Hound a few weeks ago.
You just have to watch the other videos of Shutterfly out there to see that he was less comfortable with Jos. Jos is a fantastic rider, but Shutterfly was almost running around that course.
what you say is so wrong! if shutterfly didn't have confidence with jos on his back he wouldn't have jumped a perfect course. and it didn't take any time to get the confidence back cause he didn't lose any. and ofcourse he wasn't that comfortable with jos as with meredith but have you seen how she was riding with cumano. it wasn't as comfortable as with jos.
I can see were Lnasik would make those mistakes. Look at the horse hes been showing. an enormous, moose type horses that is basically an 18 wheeler to ride. then you ge ton shutterfly, who is very similair to authentic, a pocket sized grand prix horse compared to Lansiks usual mount.
the problem wasn't jos ride but the continues change of rider and saddle got him shaken up...and fpr a sensible horse like shutterfly it was very difficult to manage that situation. He didn't even allow anyone t saddle him afterwards-he feared that the same thing would happen to him again...
i think we all agreed that shutterfly isnt a easy horse to ride, but look how easy it looks when jos is riding him! I mean meredith is very good but i think the horse looks more releaxed with jos! just my opinion.

a horse that can jump 1.60 is ALWAYS easy to ride. It's you that must addapt to his style and not the opposite. If the rider can't do that he is just bad...
one of my ponies is capable of jumping 1.60 but she's one of, if not the hardest pony I have ever ridden. i know her inside out, somedays she will come out and be perfect, other days she will be uncontrollable.
i'd only ever let anyone seriously skilled ride her.
so jos is obviously making shutterfly very relaxed - gotta be hard on a horse like him!
OMG are you serious?! horses that can jump 1.60 are pretty much ALL difficult. They're very sensitive and "normal" riders are able to jump that heights with them.
And it's team work, you have to adapt to the horse and give him dignity but the horse must also listen to the rider.
You think Ehning adapts to the horse? Just a little bit, the rest is all control from his side and the horse just has to listen.

did you ever rode above 1.20? I have been a part of my country's junior and young riders squad and have been riding in 3 and 4* CSI's doing pretty much 1.45< ... I am telling you that 1.60 quality horses are always right and if you cant jump in those horses then you are a lousy rider. simple as that
That's good for you, but not all horses that can jump 1.60 are easy to ride for a simple fact that horses are not machines. They aren't all the same, all have different mechanisms and can not be grouped together. They may be able to jump well, but it doesn't mean that every single one of them is doing everything right all the time. Horses have off days as well. any rider will know that. They are definitely not 'always right'.
i am inclined to disagree. my previousl trianer is a grand prix rider, hell tell you striahg tout that 1.40 meter hroses cna be tough if your arent a fine tuned rider.
Well i don't get what you guys are saying! this horse looks relaxed and full of confidence! Probably something else that made the horse loose her confidence
the traumatic part was the four riders riding Shutterfly NOT the Jos Lansik ride(which was the best ride of them all), Shutterfly is relaxed and jumping without excess, meaning he is only using the necessary strength needed for the jumps(not usually seen in this horse).
jo stressed shutterfly out meredith took weeks to get his confidence back with her after him riding shutterfly.meredith gets him to use all strength as it might be the way she rides, my opinion.
the ones who talks in the background says that shutterfly looks a bit odd and meredith said that shtterfly was very sressed several week after this cometition...meredtihs riding is amazing, I mean she really learn the horse to do it by itself, amazing stuff
I agree, she is an amazing rider. I'm just saying that Jos looks more in control on Shutterfly for his height and strength. Not saying that Meredith rides him badly or anything. don't get me wrong. She's absoulutely amazing
Okej:) I agree woth you fully, both jos and meredith are amazing riders! Im so glad jos have spender S now, maria gretzers horse I think he rides him so much better!
they r a beautiful team. so gracefull

Any of the World's Top 25 show jumping riders could go clear on the German bred Shutterfly in a CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix.

Read H&H then. It took her two months to get his confidence back in her after WEG.
It was in Horse and Hound. Check if you don't believe me - they do back issues for cheap.

i can't buy H&H because i'm from belgium and it wasn't true what they said in H&H.

Well then Meredith must have been lying...as it was an interview. Meh. You have your opinion, I have mine, backed up by fact. There we go.

no, we couldnt jump a full course, 3 or 4 fences we could.
i'm just making the point, that just because a horse or pony can jump huge, doesn't mean they are easy to ride.
dont fucking call me dumb, arsewipe.

pony's are not horses and if you think you can jump an entire course at 1.60 with a pony you are the dumbest person ever.
