The cops in Portland accused my 65 year old mother of being a prostitute when she was walking to her bus stop on her way to work at the Good Will at 6:00 am . This is a woman that sang for GFK was the home comeing queen and a lovely modle in the 1960's. Just because she is pritty and well dressed in a bad nieborhood they bugged her.

When we ask,then order, then advise, and someone becomes combative , we dont escalate the force, but meet whatever level is being used against us with however many people in order to restore order as soon as possible. . if this guy would have done what was told to him, this would not have even happend.

Once in a while they'll get a good pop and make an arrest for DUI, warrants, or other means. Either way, most of us don't want to offend or embarass you, we just want to do our jobs. Citizens can help by just cooperating. Things will go alot smoother if you do.

I am an honest law abiding citizen but don't really trust the police in Portland since one yelled at me for no reason. He was showing off to his fellow officers and trying to be macho. I didn't appreciate it and wagged my finger at him. Some are good others are bad and abuse their power. Before that I had respect for them, now I dont. One bad apple spoils the whole batch.

Reminds me of how I was treated when I got picked up for sleep walking on my Ambien. I didnt hurt anyone nor have I ever been in trouble. It was just a mind fuck being ignored, no water, and being treated like dirt. Idiotic locals would read what the newspaper wrote and suggest I "rot" or be "shot." It was so sensationalized, people took it word for word. They charged me with some things, but I have yet to see these charges. What goes around, comes around. I moved on and live happy :)

at 4:54 the cop grabs his right arm to do some finger printing. Because we are not there, we cannot tell how much backforce the inmate was pushing. It must have been enough to set off an alert in the cops mind to attack before BEING attacked. But seriously, Did they have to beat the snot out of this poor bastard? The guy looked like he was complying up until that point, and those two men seemed big and strong enough to wrestle that guy down without repeatedly punching him all over the place. I am not the one who is doing the drugs man. Check out 4:58 to 5:06. The cops are clearly punching him. The cop on the left punches the guy in the back of the head at 4:58-59 and the other cop starts punching the anterior and posterior side of the guy repeatedly from 5:00 to 5:06. I think he was actually punching him in the kidneys. I suppose you missed while the guy was being dragged down that the cop on the right kicks the guy on the way down too.

The problem lies that the people as a whole are abused, forced to work long hours, and for what? They don't get a better life, or even more resources. All of the work only benefits one person or a group of people. Communism is a lie where people are meant to believe they are equal. They may all be equal in the fact that they all work as hard, for all their lives. But who benefits here? BTW is this the only human interaction you get all day?

hmmm... perhaps you and I have different ideas of communism. My idea of communism more closely relates to what most people call socialism. Also, with today's technology, most people shouldn't have to work. Almost everything can be automated, with only a few (voluntary) engineers to oversee everything.

I would like to ask your opinion on what is excessive? When we are confronted with these types of individuals, and we "ask, order, advise", and they become combative, are we supposed to just sit back and take it?.tell them to sit back and allow us to cuff them. hit them just a little bit? If a bad guy comes after me, there are no rules until I WIN.

What if the guy comes after you because YOU'RE the bad guy? An officers job is to UPHOLD the law, not take it into his own hands. This guy was on the ground before he was hit several times.

Thanx for your input. Like you, I was not there when this took place. Who knows what was REALLY going on that required the officers to respond the way they did. But I support them in all that happend.......I work for the same agency where this took place.
