this is making me dance on Florida St.,while listening to Antonio Jobim, eating some fine steak at a Argentinean Restraunt, looking at the beautiful sky,and dancing with a cute brazillian girl:)
grrr... i so want to learn this kind of music.. IM A METAL HEAD. i listen to heavy, death nu metal.. and emo, punk, rock... >.. :)) but i think its good to rest for a while and learn to create nice music.. like Bossa Nova and Samba.. My 4th string is destroyed cuz of too much playing.. and now.. my 6th string is almost breaking.. i can see the inner chord..... grrr...
As an experienced player that's new to this style, I think you really do a great job teaching. Simple enough so that an intermediate player could understand, but fast enough to keep more advanced players interested. Thanks for an all-around great lesson!
Expertvillage means exactly what the name suggests an "expert"-village, they just show off what little they can do and in a 'rubbing it in your face' kinda manner they make shitty videos that no one can follow, and then they drive down to starfucks in their pink miattas to talk about their favourite mtv video.
Fantastic lesson. One question: You play one bass note in front of the beat (with the high notes). Could you delay it to place it on the beat or would you consider that inauthentic?
it will be fine. I played a bit syncopated to groove with the higher-notes better. Feel free to come with you pattern . There is really no fixed rule in music--it's an art form :)
THANKS it helped me a lot i'm a singer-songwriter and i have challenged myself to play bossa nova but it takes time to get used to the way its played thanks a lot for the tips
Wow that lesson was pretty rad. Thanks for making an intermediate lesson. I like how you assumed everyone knew the basics and moved on to things that actually are important. I would like to learn more about walking bass lines. That paticular walking bass line was easy for me because its in a song I know. "april 26 1992 by sublime"
Keep teaching incredible us styles. Totally awesome. I think I can run with this
Congratulations on your video Mr Oliveira. I learned a lot from it and are very happy because I finally understood the basic pattern. Please make more bosa nova lessons. How about teaching us that pattern at 6:15. I would certainly apreciate it, saludos from México.
thanks for the kind words, am I am glad you learned the pattern. I will try to add more brazilian music videos later. There some on the pipe but more about soloing. In the mean time, it's best that you try to create your own pattern and start building your own style.
Thanks for this lesson, It really helped!
