grrr... i so want to learn this kind of music.. Fantastic lesson. One question: You play one bass note in front of the beat (with the high notes). Could you delay it to place it on the beat or would you consider that inauthentic?

it will be fine. I played a bit syncopated to groove with the higher-notes better. Feel free to come with you pattern . There is really no fixed rule in music--it's an art form :)
