@Kesler17Snipe Talk Love yourself then, too. 4 times 1st in the Northwest in 5 years and 3 times fallen short in the Semifinals, and this year in the Finals..
i remember going fucking crazy when he scored this haha. only to have the canucks score another late, then jumbo to setup clowe even more late! goddamn is it october yet?
This game is second to the Sharks and Red Wings game a few years ago when Marleau and Michalek had those two breakaway goals. But definitely the game of the year...I think Eager's goal was included in the top 10 goals of the year, or top 5. For one play Torrey turned dangler, where did that come from?
I have been watching many "goals of the year" for this season and neither Eager's nor Mitchell's were on there. I am a dedicated Sharks fan so I think one of them should be up there, but do you guys agree? I think Mitchell's should be because it tied the best team in the league with 2 minutes left in the game (plus it's obvious greatness) and I could see Eager's 6-0 nothing goal not making a list (although it was incredible) but not nearly as important.
I don't even care that we lost that game. That was AMAZING! I don't care what you say. Anyway it's all about the playoffs. I don't see what everyone hates on the Sharks for not winning the Stanley Cup when the Canucks haunt either and they have been in the league WAY longer.
@SharksHockeyFINatic yeah we get so much crap for not winning the cup when other older teams have struggled way longer. I wonder why Torrey isn't used more in the shootout, he seems to have a knack for breakaways and shorthanded
Amazing. As a Sharks fan, I'll take the point... to play like this against the best team in the league really says something about these guy's will to win after a crap first half of the season. SJS has to do something about their PP though... :(
@Defenseman619 when you think about, yeah Vancouver has the better record, but are they really better than the Sharks? And think, what would've happened if Dan Boyle played yesterday.
@nickdawg13 Idiot? The Sharks were 0-4 on the PP, and if you actually have been following them (or any team for that matter) over the years, you would know how important special teams are in the playoffs. Are you telling me that 0-4 is good when they lost in a shootout and gave up a point to a Western Conference team? In fact, Sharks are 5 for 28 right now. IDIOT.
@Defenseman619 ..... even when they dont score, they get tons of shots on the powerplay, and every team has a time when their pp slumps, they're still 3rd in the league for pp%, you just complain too much
@nickdawg13 I'm not complaining, I'm just not a homer. I'm a realist. How about the Hawks game right now? Sharks just gave up 3 in a matter of minutes against the Hawks. Fans like you have such a short memory. And sorry, getting shots "even when they don't score" doesn't win Cups. You can throw the puck on net all day long and it doesn't equal a win.
@nickdawg13 Not always. Playing the body, fighting out of the corners and drawing penalties wear down opponents much more than unimaginitave, open shots from the point. They are playing better (with the exception of this bomb), but for that first half of the season they could have 50 SOG and not one of them had a chance.
@Defenseman619 i don't know buddy, how about the hawks game? they finally beat the sharks for the FIRST time out of four this season seeing that YOUR memory is short & seemingly selective! and i guess since a big part of their stanley cup winning team has gone elsewhere (niemi, byfuglien, etc..) i don't think they'd be able to carry the stanley over vince vaughn's pruny thumb right now! we didn't need that 6-3 win as much as we needed the 6-3 win to follow against dallas, who is IN OUR DIVISION
@trippyness what on earth are you talking about? The Sharks played horrible against the Hawks, and gave up short handed goals against Dallas. What is your point? I don't mind tanking a game now and then, as long as they come back and play fairly strong like they did tonight against Dallas. Are you mad that I can talk hockey and I'm a realist and not a homer? Heater's crap penalty and Logan's D.O.G. could have cost us that point. Remember? I can't even tell what the hell you're talking about.
@trippyness and since you typed "OUR DIVISION" in all capitals, I'll remind you that the race is SO tight in the West, a win is a win. 2 points is 2 points, doesn't matter if it's against the Ducks or if it's against Buffalo. We need to win, see... and the other teams can help out by losing. CHI has 84 points and a game in hand. You think that's not important? I get divisional importance, but do yourself a favor and go to NHL's site and look at how close the playoff race is overall.
Good to see Mitchell scoring again I hope this wakes up his scoring touch!!! Crazy good game that was!! Even though the Sharks lost. I hope to see a play- off match up between these teams.
@BigJonAllred I agree man shootouts are such bullshit. All they do is ruin the end of the game. Its a poor excuse of a decision to end a game. Altho I disagree with the continuous OT part. Continuous OT should only be for the playoffs, you dont want to the players getting dead tired while the season is still going on. I think having a tie would be just fine. Hell if my Sharks won the shootout I'd take it but I still think its dumb. But the Sharks should've won they dominated the game.
@BigJonAllred The reason they don't do continuous overtime is about half for the fans, half for the players. If a game's time is limitless, it will tire the players out much more. What if a game goes to 5OT and at least one of the teams has a game the next day? They will probably be too sore to play to the best of their abilities and the more rested team wins easily and that takes away from the game. They do unlimited OT with playoffs because the best teams can handle it.
"Has there ever been a goal this big for the Sharks this season? I don't think so."-Drew Remenda. Little did he know Clowe would make him change his mind a little under 2 minutes later.
such a beautiful goal! and such an AMAZING game. I'm a die hard sharks fan and this is one loss that i was not disappointed about. both teams played amazingly well
@polosmitty14 It's hard to even call it a loss since it went to the stupid shootout. To me it was more of a tie. But yeah I was there and it was insane.
@90Chubbs It was a hell of a game my friend. I don't count it as a loss for the Sharks because they lost in the shootout. It will be fun to see who gets that overtime goal if they meet in the playoffs.

This game is THE EXAMPLE Why shootouts need to go and just play continuous overtime until there's a winner.
This Game of the Year personified and epitomized the word DRAMA!
I don't think the 17,500 at the tank would have minded staying late for a game like that to have a decisive winner.
