thank you sooo much for singing this version of nina! i needed to listen to someone besides myself sing nina before i could really get it down. im singing this for masterclass tomorrow, beautiful job by the way!
@ShunshineSinger19: Thank you! Sorry, I'm not aware of any recordings by anyone else who sings the Paton version. At least, I couldn't find any on YouTube back when I learned it. Good luck with your master class!
Ola! Aqui esta lo que dice John Glenn Paton: "'Nina' has been popular ever since it was introduced in London by an Italian opera company in 1749. The production featured music by various composers, most of them anonymous, and the book of 'favorite songs' from the opera gave no composer's name for this song. From other sources the name of G. B. Pergolesi became attached to the song, but since he died in 1736 there is only the remotest chance that he had anything to do with it."
Thank you! You are the only person that I have found that sings the same version that I do. I will be watching this video on a regular basis for a whil e because I have to sing this song in my vocal class. ^-^
I sang the Paton version, which is newer and probably not as well known. I'm guessing the more familiar version is in the Schirmer edition?
(Esto es el version de Paton, que es mas nuevo y no es tan familiar como eso de Schirmer. Gracias por el cumplimiento de mi voz. Disculpe, no hablo bien el espanol!)
anyone knows who else sings the paton version?
all i find is the shirmers version.which i love, but my teacher wants me to sing the paton
