yep, is a complete new history of Silent hill 1, the idea of left the original history and only add better graphics would suck. BUT I LIKE THIS ONE! :D

well, the fans love the first one, and hate the last ones, becouse they just dont understend the history, like homecoming, the sh spirit just lost his way, soo, the decide bring it back! whit this! for more people know the real silent hill! the first want it was the best.

Read the articles and watch the interviews and you'll understand it better. Some people hated Homecoming because they felt Silent Hill was going the way of Resident Evil and becoming too combat oriented. Shattered Memories will have NO combat. You'll get no weapons so you have to run and knock things over in the environment to try and slow down the monsters. The monster AI is being improved on in order to make them relentlessly go after Harry.

Basically this is SURVIVAL horror in pure form.

Yeah, I knew all that. And, I don't mind it at all. Though I loved Homecoming, I look forward to the way this one will use combat. :] I'm just worried that Climax will destroy the story of SH1 and Harry's image by reworking it the way they have. Regardless, I still plan to play the game and make my full opinion afterward. :] And, no offence taken or felt. *highfive* But, the connection to the title makes sense. Showing us the same game, but then again, not the same thing...

lol well the original resident evil did have combat i felt it was a good way they put it in homecoming they didnt loose any of the survival aspects of the game that i could see the game was dark and gloomy at parts it was scary to, but this looks amazing how you can do everything to get away from the monsters

I will add one more thing Val, the original Silent Hill is my favorite in the series. I for one like the idea of the series returning to it's roots to remind us what made this franchise great: pure unadulterated horror with a very compelling story.

Plus, like I said, the game is purposely messing with people's memories of the original game (hence the subtitle: Shattered Memories). It's familiar, yet completely new all at once.

Anyway, don't take any offense with my comments, as I meant none.

Well, we know VERY little about the story, other than that many things will constantly change depending on your actions. For example, depending upon your answers to Dr. K's quiz (Dr. K is apparently not supposed to be Kaufman) at the very beginning, and some of your actions while initially looking for Cheryl, instead of going into a diner to find Cybil the police woman, you may instead end up in a bar with Cybil the sexy bartender.

In other words, it's messing you your memories of the original.
