  • Thanks, i never quite understood this method, i do now.

    Thanks.

  • I think one thing you haven't thought of when you built this system is how are you going to keep zombies away?

  • I figured I wouldn't have to, since the system's, really, a no-brainer.

  • Way too complicated. Much easier and better ways to make a hydro. Keep it simple.

  • i dont get it?

  • thats a great wee idea mate!well thought!

  • @Bdiddly1

    Thanks.

  • ok, let me start by saying this is a great idea not downing your concept. The big issue here is that roots grow down. roots will grow in the chamber or clog the screen if you put one in, that is why most flood and drains flood close to the surface. I actually built a similar systems a couple years back. no matter what i tried the roots clogged the intake when filling from below... food for thought

  • @dartmanbull1

Yes, that is a problem. I haven't actually grown something in this unit, but have run into similar problems in another. The pressure seems to be able to push the nutrient through the roots of some plants and not others, and in this system, the plants would have to be handled during such maintenance. For this reason, among others, I separated the reservoir from planters, fed by a 1/2 inch pipe that I can clean out if necessary from below.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • i think your idea is great but a little weak in the area around the cap and rez but still real good and your rite you should market it

  • @CanadianxxDream

Thanks. I agree, but I intentionally made it out of drink bottles, and as simple as possible, so anyone, anywhere could build it for free, should they care to.

  • What kind of air pump are you using to pressurize the unit ? cheers

  • @skunkystar

A Hagen 802 dual pump. The cheapest one I could find, with two individual pumps..

  • I've not checkerd out the link but I can se this is using air pressure from a fish pump or similar. How large does your pump need to be to fill this many buckets?

  • @IcechickenSr Actually now that I watch to where ther equalize, it appears your pump is slightly underpowered, it should be IMHO anyways powerful enough to pump Continous air bubbles into EACH pot once they are filled. Here the Air pressure on the pump is reduced as the pump is working hard to keep enough air pressure up to keep the watter up. I think Tee another pump in at the other end and BINGO Continious Oxygen airration like a bubbler which would be more effective use of the system. Cheers.

  • nice so you could have the plants at the top right? this is sick!!! ill buy it from you 50$!

  • Correct, and they could go on .... FOREVER!

Sorry, I cannibalized it for another project. It's easy to build though. I'm starting to think I should market this stuff.

  • Hey I really like the music, but it's not switching to glide! So what is it?

  • I don't know what it is. It was an audioswap.

  • I've added an annotation to the beginning of the video, with the URL for the instructions.

    Thanks.

  • Be nice if we could see how its made instead of just wathing the thing fill and drain......brillant!

  • Nice one ! I'll try it sometimes, seems cheap and easy to build :)

    Thanks, keep it up !

  • Thanks.

I'm thinking it could be built on a much larger scale with whatever size "planters" you require, spaced accordingly. All powered by an aquarium air pump .... or two for redundant backup. No need for filters, water pumps, etc...

  • nicely made....good for clones/seedlings

    nice job
