  • There's people putting their kids in poverty because they are lazy. There are mums & dads who are defrauding the system by pretending to live apart who successfully get two homes, flat for dad & house for mum & one property does not get lived in or is sub let by dad to a mate for £20 a week. Let's root out these fraudsters & shop them. The system stinks & the tax paying public pick up the bill. I would be as well off if I was not working & this cannot be right.

  • The capitalistic system has run is course. Most poor are not educated.

  • jeremy paxman is such an arrogant, rude person who talks down to people. Get him off television.

  • @humanityfirstnow I dont like Jeremy Paxman, however, I am sorry the above politicians are bimbos, they have not a clue about poverty.

And I would like to remind these bimbos, whoever they are, that getting people back into work is not a real solution to poverty. Unemployment is not the only cause of poverty in the UK, many many working families live and exist in poverty.

Power to communities will NOT solve poverty, a pile of gibbering hogwash reasonable wages and jobs are the only way ahead.

  • Easy there 09SRILANKA your extremest views are hard to swallow! I have a close friend who's been a marble stone mason all his life, and he has payed his national Insurance and tax all his life like the rest of us. but he's been unemployed for nearly a year now & he's living on about £220 a month, If your suggesting a family of 7 shouldn't have anything to live on or that £500 is too much then I suggest you have your head checked!! don't you know that The poor pay tax too. Disgusting comments

  • @TheTempestSpark So is it right that 16-17 year old girl & lad can leave school with no qualificiations, get pregnant, get flat & every other expense catered for & pay nothing in but get everything out of the system. Its people like these who stop your friend getting what he should get. Lots of these people will knock out kids & will never work, dad will no doubt say he has a bad back but what he means is hes unemployable & the state pays him a huge sum of £ for doing nothing.

  • @TheTempestSpark. So the family of 7 get £500 a week, pay for nothing at all, pay nothing at all into the system & your buddy gets £55 a week having paid in for all his life. Perhaps benefits should be means tested based on the numbers of years you have worked and how much you have paid into the system? So anyone who has never done so will get a minimum amount of help (but some) & your friend gets considerably more based on his work history. What do you think?

  • @09SRILANKA (1)There always have been people with hard-line views & prejudice against the unemployed & less-fortunate, I Believe we have a responsibility take care of them, It's not right to harass or complain about the breadcrumbs the state throws out to the poorest people among us.

  • @TheTempestSpark. Im certainly not having a go at pensioners, people who are very ill on sick money etc. I know people who have been on welfare handouts for 30+ years for no other reason than that they can. They go short of nothing, have holiday homes which they own, one has managed to beat the system & buy two council houses on welfare, they get sick £,run a number of cars, rent/ council tax paid & i can go on & on. If you think thats good then i dont think breadcrumbs will fund this!

  • @09SRILANKA The only way people gain on welfare benefits are those who make fraudulent claims, hmm not unlike our arrogant politicians.

Indeed many people do go without things, sadly in this country we are led by trash for politicians and a right wing press which makes a bloody mountain every time it finds one person who has fiddled the system.

Most of the time the reporting of papers such as the Daily Mail is nothing more than fairy tales. But we love to read the stories and react!

  • @Sliepnir2006.Yes i agree entirely theres many bent politicians, cant argue with that, & as you say benefit fraudulent claims do net lots of extra £, but lets be realistic about this & stop pretending there only three or four people like this throughout the uk, theres many a tens of thousands making these fraudulent claims so it has a bit more of an impact than a tiny minority would. Im pretty sure theres quite a few bent mps as what has been exposed recently.I dislike them all, mps & feeders!

  • @09SRILANKA Hi oops just one comment it was more then three or four politicians of the above nature, in fact there were around 260 of them who made fraudulent claims on expenses. I have a full list here, but because of the number, it is hard to publish... lol..

But there are certainly more who have been fraudulently claiming benefits. To be honest the whole system needs overhauling, including that rat infested flea pit we have as a parliament!

  • @Sliepnir2006. The bloody MPS are a disgrace & any found to be breaking the law should be charged with any offences that come to light. MPS have been doing this for years & thank God its been exposed & stopped. Im all for the needy getting state handouts but not the lazy, Im aware some of my comments seem a little extreme but it winds be up that folks who need the cash/help dont get it but lots of fraudsters do so the people who really need help suffer.

  • @09SRILANKA (2) What about all the politicians (who we pay for) and how they get away with taking millions of the tax payers money?. What about bailing out the wealthy Bankers with tax payers money (and who took huge bonuses out of it)? I can go on and on with examples. But you have already decided to pick on the little guy.

  • @TheTempestSpark. I have no prejudice against unemployed, I may have prejudice

against the welfare reliant family who are this way as they chose to play "The System" for many many years. Now i can only suggest that if you know no families like this you are very protected & live on a remote island somewhere or you are just so "very nice" that you are happy with this. Now if the latter is the case then its people like me who voice that these families are taking the taxpayer for a ride.

  • @TheTempestSpark. I agree with you entirely. the taxpayer should not have had to bail out the banks, or get bonuses etc or pay for the welfare reliant family either.

Now as Ive said there are hundreds of thousands of families (i should say parents) who play the system & do not work as it pays them too well not to work. Now as i said your friend should obviously get much more than he gets & this should be measured on his work history whcih is obviously exceptional.

  • @TheTempestSpark . Well theres a lot of little guys (the poorest amongst us) who are there as they have made no effort to get out of this situation. Now if you are happy that youre friend who has paid is for life only gets breadcrumbs & the ever so less fortunate get considerably more then thats very nice of you. Its just a shame for your friend. Now my views may be severe but they are my views and Youtube facilitates comments from all sides.

  • @TheTempestSpark harsh words here, the crux of this problem lies with Parliament not with the people. For instance, I truly believe that it is both convenient and worthwhile for politicians to keep the benefit system. As whenever there is a bad day, those on benefits are an easy scapegoat, the same applies to immigrants.

To put a stop to a lot of this, the electorate first need to clean up and clean out Parliament. A more shoddy, wreckless, propaganda touting fleapit would be hard to find.

  • Tax state handouts. People live on state handouts for decades so things cant be that bad, everything for free, Poverty i dont think so.................

  • wrong ! the cost of gas /electricity/ Water rates and other bits and bobs cancelsout the 60 pounds a week Benefit, so what do they eat ,how do they cloth themselves.CAPITALISM IS EVIL ! EAT THE RICH LEAVE THE COUNTRY FIGHT THE SYSTEM

  • Yeh but if u got kids add up,school lunch, child benefit, tax cred, free dental, prescriptions, rent/housing allowance, council tax, sick money, the bloody gravy train goes on and on to the extent that the lame, sickn lazy bad back, depression folk are as well off as those going to work. saw family on tv other night 5 kids, dad with bad back raking in over £568 a week & that was a rough calculation.

So that aint bad for sitting at home!

  • I guess working man just has the choice of where to live & i choose to live as far away from these folk as i can. Trust me i have lazy family who have lived off taxpayers £ for decades. sick money for this & handouts for that. I pay to get my prescriptions so i can get back to work to keep topping the gravy train £ up. Oh n by the way my kids got £250 child trust fund & lazy sicknotes kids get £500 & fund for buying pushchairs etc..My kids paying even at birth same as mummy & daddy!

  • Yeh n your rent paid &council tax, prescriptions, dental, repairs on home, tell me exactly what you get off the state then including £ for your kids etc if u got any & what you get for them. Its a bloody gravy train & every time Alistair Darling talks about high earners its asthough they are dirt on his shoe. High earners are there because they got an education & did well for themselves & well paid jobs not because they were given it on a plate.

They earn well because they chose to do well!!

  • @geisterbahn1. Poverty?, not if people got kids. Dont get me wrong I'm up for working folk who dont get much £ having it topped up with working tax credits but there are hundreds of thousands of lazy parents out there getting the lot for free, they play the system with bad back or depression if they got kids they are raking it in....sick money, rent, prescriptions etc then spend their cash at the post office on ale, fags and scratchcards. Many rich folk are rich because of hard work!
