  • Thank you for the wonderful video Dr. Do you know if the two tablespoons a day is a proper replacement for a DHA supplement?

  • Thank you for this video, most informative and well presented.

  • Chia/Salba has the essence of cucumber flavor to me. Very fresh taste.

  • What brand of salba is that?

  • Gram for gram has more vit c than 7 oranges? so you have to eat the weight of 7 oranges? I dont get it .why not just the weight of one orange gram for gram .?

what does it mean? Does she mean that if you ate the weight of one orange it would have 7 times as much vit c?

  • Just chuck some in your muslie or porride-eat-chug water=job done!!

I get the brown chia seeds, Salba is just the trade name for white chia.

    Pigsy power!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dr. Of??? From???

  • This is a great food for athletes. It boosts energy and sustains it because it releases the nutrients slowly. The greatest ultra endurance running tribe in the world, the Tarahumara, use a Chia drink that contains Chia, honey, and lime juice to sustain themselves on runs of over 100 miles at a time.

I like to use Chia gel in my blended drinks to give them a thicker, more satisfying consistency along with tonic herbs, nut milks, Xylitol (low glycemic index sweetener), and spices. Awesome!

  • In mexico it was never lost my grandmother use to drink it as you said good stuff but we never drink it because my mother din't even knew how to use but she said that she did heard that her mother drank chia water.

  • thank you ... i learned so much.

  • Yes, salba = chia seeds. Same thing.

  • god my local health store priced a 180g bag at 40$

found the same bag for 13$ on amazon

    this stuff is amazing btw

  • Does tumeric do the same thing this does?

  • @Concepcion30 Nope

  • i picked this up at the bulk barn today and it was much cheaper than what i saw at the grocery store. i can't wait to try it out!

  • ive been told this is suppose to cut down on diabetes and other dangerous diseases

  • ...gotta love those Spaniards

  • does salba taste good?

  • @anfibo26 I like it.

  • @frosty992001 Can you liken the flavour to something?

  • @winterwinwin It tastes a bit like chicken. No, not really. :) lol

It is fairly neutral flavored. If you soak it in water... it is kind of watery. With a texture which puts me in mind of tapioca. Perhaps a slight grain taste when you crush the seed. If you put it in a soup you can't taste it much (if at all). I like to add it to my morning cereal, and to soups. My energy levels seemed to improve after eating it almost daily for a month or so.

    Hope it helps :)

  • thanks for the info

  • @jeseavery I quite like it.

  • I can buy Salba in Montreal for $21.90 per kilo

  • nasty Spaniards-- destroying a nation of people

  • @mellyjaz : Nasty Spaniards? Really? How about nasty nation of people? If it were not for the Spaniards, we would be watching a video now about "How to properly eat a young boy's leg", or perhaps, "How to sacrifice a virgin", and, "How to rip off the face of your sacrificial victim, place it on your own face, and then dance around him, mocking him, to create the most terror in your vicim before you tear his heart out and eat it." It's amazing how we're so ignorant of history today.

  • @BeulahLips Not like he was joking and probably looking for likes on a youtube comment.

  • @mellyjaz That was over 500 years ago. You weren't born then, so stop bitching about it. The indians were constantly at war with one another. They also enslaved and performed human sacrifices against their enemies and their own people. Other races of people, besides Europeans, were conquerors as well. Like the Mongols and the Huns. The Mongols brought Bunonic Plague to Europe when they invaded it in the 13th century, which killed 25 million in Europe over the centuries.

  • Is chia availabe in the UK anywhere?

  • I know in Canada all the health food stores carry it so I would think the UK health food stores should have it. I just bought some and take about a tablespoon and then down a coffee right after.

  • WOW...very cool... shall look into getting some ASAP... vegetarian here & in need of something just like this , glad you have made & posted this video!! =) Thank YOU*

    *Peace~+

  • I just want to know how much this chia seeds cost? Because I know somewhere I can buy this perfect food sold @ $7 per 112 grams, is it worth the price?

  • I mix my salba powder with chai tea to hide its awful taste, it's bearable. It's the simplest way to intake it, in my opinion.

  • just soak the seeds and it becomes a tasteless gel,

  • please more information on Chia seed vs Salba.

Difference between white and black seeds.

    thank you

  • Salba is just a brand name, waay more expensive

  • @livingdaylight : for what I read so far, both in both cases are the same, I suggest you go for the cheaper one.

  • I notice your product only uses the white seed whereas other companies use both the white and black seed. Can you explain? Does anyone have more information on the black vs. the white seed?

  • where can i buy it in the philppnes?

  • thanks for the information this is very helpful!

  • Excellent information....I will pass this along to many...great service to society. Bravo!
