Aww, she's proud, And damn rightly so! find me any new mother who's just given birth and tell me she's not proud she managed it! Just cause little hens do it everyday doesn't mean it's a walk in the park...
I'd like to know the real meaning behind why chickens do this. I know it means they just laid an egg, but what are they trying to accomplish by making such a big scene about it? My hens are outside bok-bok-ing up a storm just like this chicken. It just seems weird that they would want to draw attention that they did something that could be easily be harmed without their protection.
Translation: "... Hey B*tches, yeh damn right i woke you up who's the first one to lay and egg me oh yeeeh i layed an egg i layed an egg i layed an egg i layed an egg i layed an egg i layed an egg i layed an egg i layed an egg i layed an egg ....."
now we are trying this, but if you can, get ahold of a Lavender Orpington rooster, breed him to your Light Sussex hens, and you will get Coronation Sussex offspring. They are very rare in the U.S., and are going for about $100 a dozen without shipping, which shipping is around $50-$75.You can make a bundle of money off this, that is, if you can get the Lavender Orpington rooster.
That's odd - I had a pet chicken in high school, and she used to say "Look look look what I did!" The look look look part was slow, and the whatidid was fast and run together, like I just typed it.) after she laid an egg.
I have a parrot who learned to cluck from a chicken 20 years ago, but hasn't done it in years. He just got excited by the memory when he heard one on a commercial, so I came here to find some sounds to help him remember. I bet we'll be hearing chickens around here again :-).
