HI, I dont know if you guys are talking about car jerks/stutetrs during acceleration at 2nd 3rd 4th geasr problem. I have e2001 325i. Some one told me it could be MAF, O2 sensor, vacuum leak and ignition coil/spark plug. cleaning MAF would fix problem? More load with AC on during summer made worse when acceration. No code found. help me out..
@frogvillage I have the exact same problem, sudden jerks in 2/3/4 gears with another car. Have replaced boost sensors, MAP sensors... i've put it down to faulty MAF. Try gettin another car of same time and do a quick swap so ur not paying for something that might not be faulty.
HI, I dont know if you guys are talking about car jerks/stutetrs during acceleration at 2nd 3rd 4th geasr problem. I have e46 2001 325i. Some one told me it could be MAF, O2 sensor, vacuum leak and ignition coil/spark plug. cleaning MAF would be a reason?
Wadec ur just a grumpy old cubt arnt you, in any case yeah you need a new maf the reason the car runs smoother without it plugged in is because the ecu reverts to factory presets when you plug it in it tries to read from q maf that is either erratic too high or too low so it runs rough, sorry if someone else already explained this
Put the factory shit back on. All you little punks, If you want a Hot Rod build a fk Hot Rod WOOOOo i installed a cold WHAT . WwwOoo my 2.2 ltr run's 9's in 1/4 WWOOoo Dumb ass's
@wadecdonaldson dont be mad cause you dont know or just to dumb to know that with that on yes builds hp and cleaner air flow and in some cases better mpg. dont be getting lippy with everyone cause of your mistake
I have the same problem!! the RPM is crazy. The problem is the MAF? Mas air flow sensor? That shit cost 240 dls for my eclipse 2000. :S sorry, my english isn't good.
@erickhalo3 i have the same problem it go normal when i unpluged it but when it is on it idle below 7000 to about 6500....did u try cleaning the MAF...i need help solving it to
mine stalls out when i pluged it back in i put a cold air intake on my camaro it has rough idle and it stalls out when its unpluged it works idk what todo i tried a lot of things i bought an ew sensor and it still did it
@arnoni11 Change the "cold air intake" pal ..go back to stock it's logical. Your MAF sensor is filled with dirt more quickly with that cold air intake. Try this and you'll solve your problem.
my 98 chevy malibu is doing the same thing!, mechanic thought it needed a tune up,but it already had a tune up 2 weeks ago.found out its the maf sensor.
hi.. i have a problem with the bosch (maf) for alfa romeo 165 i try to clean it but after a while it gone bad again and i've changed it and have the same problem the car works fine for a day or two and i've changed the car engine and have the same problems...
@IzzyLL are you sure? i have the same problem, it make me crazy!!!!!!! :@:@ My mechanic 3 months ago removed the gasoline tank to clean it up, i have that problem since that time. PD: sorry my english isn't good ;)
@MrChallenger360 when MAF IS bad the car will do wat it did when u unplugged it whne it is plugged in and when u unplugg it the car would go back to nomrla i jst had this problem on a e36 325 i and it drove me crazy until a freind told me it was MAF but i would have nver guessed it and fuck it i aint paying 150 an hour for gay ass bmw mechanic to tell me it was a 200 dollar fix :)
@PePeLePeW42089 I have a 318is and it has a rough idle. It pulsates like the one in the video and my check engine light is on. Do any of you guys have a solution?
i wouldnt unplugg your maf it will start pumping mass fuel into the cylinders. the no resistance is read as lot of air coming in so it will compinsate
@briansmobile1 lol. My brothers mazda was choking on a lot of fuel one day and it smelled like gasoline and fumes were every where the car buked. we found out the wire going to the maf sensor got unclipped. the code read circuit to maf sensor open. so i assumed thats what happens lol
ok , im having a huge problem with my 99 maxima ,it wont start or i have to push it very hard to start , after 2 weeks in nissan shop they told me that it needs new ECM ,i bought one but it didnt solve the problem then they told me that the flywheel is bad , i took it to another michanic who told me that the timming chain , but i noticed that it always start normal in the morning (cold)
*Check your spark plugs, also your wires (look videos for it)
*Send your inyectors to clean in ultrasonic cleaner and let them test it in a laboratory of inyectors, to see if your inyectors are in good conditions (i think they charge you like 12 dollars for each one)
*Check your intake mainfold and if its very dirty you need to clean that too, you could also have a lot of oil in the valves that you will need clean it.
Its seems very hard job, but believe me am student, and just i looked for videos and the haynes manual. And that saved me a lot of waste of money on mechanicals and pieces that i could buy it cheaper somewhere else
Remove the air cleaner, spray some carburetor cleaner directly into the air inlet body. This problem is caused by a small amount of dirt sticking to the mass air flow sensor.
Some (most) airflow-sensors have a emergency program that starts when it gets an error. This program just have the fixed basic settings to make the engine run (So you can drive back home and fix it). I have a defective MAF in my car, when I unplug it, same thing happen, even when the MAF is defective.
is that a 3000gt it looks like one.

That's definately not a MAF problem. You put your engine in a "emergency" programm. It sounds like false air to the inlet manifold

so when u unplud the MAF the rpm was stable ?? btw can u drive the car without plugin the MAF
rainofthepast 1 year ago
@rainofthepast you can drive with the MAF unplugged but the car will have no power and will sputter and misfire at low rpms

Maybe a vacuum leak??? I know at my 97 accord was doing this until I found a loose vacuum line and when I plugged it back in, the engine idled fine.
USGiorgi 1 year ago
I've got a video on how to clean them- often that's all that's needed- it may help. You may also have a vacuum leak at or before the manifold.

Sorry for you, the ECM its expensive :S
.
The flywheel, i dont think its bad, because, you will hear it all the time the car is running.
.
The timing belt, could also be the problem, but leave it until the end.
.
The problems you are having could be the gasoline is not burning properly thats why you have this problem, so here is what i recomend you to do:

mafs is bad
it doesn't give the right readings to the ecm(electronic control module) so
when you unplug the mafs it doesn't give any readings(but the readings it does give, are no good cause the sensor is bad)
replace the mafs
