This is an old video, and back in 2010 it may have proven useful to use, but those are all using common sense. Obviously you get more credit by completing challenges and getting medals but even those will only get you so much credit per game(s). The fastest and simplest way to rank up is to play a lot of firefight. The higher the rank you are the more credit you accumulate per game.
