  • Great work!

  • Nice man

  • How much is the algaecide that you have to add to the water?

  • No bottom drain and you have gravel on the bottom?

I bet that is fun to clean once a year.

  • @armanflint Bottom drains are for bozos. If you knew anything about how an ecosystem works you wouldn't be posting rubbish like this.

  • @landscapejoe You obviously don't own a koi pond or understand aquaculture. Get a life and get a pond before you talk shit, stupid.

  • @armanflint This is an Ecosystem Style Pond, a bottom drain is mainly used in Hybrid Eco systems, or in dedicated Koi ponds. Do your home work and you will know the difference. That said, this pond flourishes & I never once, ONCE got a sick fish.

  • @landscapejoe I totally agree, this is an Eco-System pond, as mentioned in the title, its is no way a "Koi Pond" people who work around ponds know the difference between a Koi Pond and an Eco Pond.

P.S. Please don't call my viewers bozos, BD's are a long debate, and should be deputed on forums, not here.

  • @armanflint I do clean it once a year. Naturally in ponds around the world water is replenished each spring with freshwater, and ponds dry up a-lot during the summer, fill up in winter from rain & snow, and in spring heavy snow melt replaces all the old water with fresh water. For small ponds, where cleaning is easy,a bottom drain is not needed. It takes me but 3 hours from start to finish in a spring cleaning.

  • exelente..mchas gracias por subir estos videos...sirven para aprender y ahorrar dinero..!! saludos desde argentina!

  • maybe if u put the links to part 2 and 3 in the commments section ppl might be more likley to watch them too. im not too fussed on koi they kill the native fish and get into the river system and breed like rabbits so do u think just the plain old goldfish or shumbunkins would be ok ?

  • @sooouuuuper Goldfish and Shubunkins are just as destructive as koi are in a natural river system.

I say it's not the koi fault they do what they need to do, they repopulate. It's not their fault its nature. I mean look at humans and the growing population destroying this entire world for food, oil, and water?

  • @Arteolike fair enough about the population ~ if we all shared wat we had then there wouldnt be the great big famines etc . Goldfish dont grow the same size as the koi its just a personal choice for me not to have koi in a pond i wasnt trying to be nasty Do u have a part 2 and 3 ?

  • @sooouuuuper Part 2 & 3 are both up. The thing I cant understand how is it possible for a koi to move from your little garden pond to a huge lake were it will thrive? Unless the pond is right next to it seems impossible. The way koi got into un-native habitats, is people kept carp (koi) in there ponds when a flood/ hurricane hit, and it washed the koi into a natural stream.

  • @Arteolike no lol lol lol when they dont want them anymore they flush them down the toilet and then they get into the water system and breed or they dont want them anymore and think it would be "cute " to put them in the local river pond ~ they are so bad they are scooping them up and making manure out of them and they grow HUGE HUGE HUGE like a baby shark they grow and grow and grow they are the cockroachwes of the fishworld lol lol lol lol

  • PS its not the fishes fault that ppl are stoopid and create a major problem by being negligent

if they let them grow bigger then they can eat them like they used to do in asian countries . maybe in some parts of the world were there is no food they could farm koi to feed ppl?

  • @sooouuuuper PS The largest carp infestation in a non native habitat was caused because of a river flood in a town, and the koi washed away with the flood into local rivers. Search about it. The video is called "Asian Carp Invasion Part I"

  • @Arteolike non native habitat ? i think if u took the time to google You will find that Koi or Carp are a serious problem in dams river etc and with some of them being 100% of the fish available in that particular place but as u are a stoopid american that thinks the world revolves around him and the USA that other places in the world dont count the world has been badly affected by the carp or Koi Carp or Koi lay thousands of eggs thousands not just a few like the goldfish

  • @sooouuuuper I don't understand why you had to call me a quote "stoopid american"? Not only is that an insult to me, but to the American people. Apologize.

  • @sooouuuuper Honestly, if you flush a live fish down the toilet, the chances or it ending up alive in a natural water system is basically impossible. I agree people releasing non native species into a natural river or lake is very stupid. If you don't want to keep koi cause you think their destructive, and you believe the way they get into river systems is people release them like that. Well then don't be foolish and don't release koi into a river system!!!

  • @Arteolike well it was ok in finding nemo they flushed him down the toilet and he was ok but then again he must have missed the seives and grinders at the treatment works - they are very pretty and ugly looking and given the problems with them in the enviroment i dont think the petstores should sell them ~ we are going round in circles I will have to agree to disagree with you ~ anyway ur pond is fantastic and im going to look at ur other vids now

  • @sooouuuuper I don't understand why its so hard for you to agree with me? Koi, is a TYPE of carp, and is not so common in lakes & rivers, Silver Carp are the extremely destructive species's. Who keeps silver carp anyways? Have you ever seen a nice Kohaku, Yamabuki, Showa, or Sanke KOI swimming in a river, No. You generally see Silver Asian Carp. Did I ever say Koi are NOT destructive? NO I NEVER DID!!! Be responsible and don't release koi fish, Euthanize them or give them away on craigslist.

  • @Arteolike cause i am stubborn and ur wrong koi is a type of carp so are goldfish so are shumbkins however yes i have seen those pretty koi swimming in rivers and waterways they are a complete pest i have nothing against ppl having them as long as they dont release them in the rivers etc:

  • Three different varieties of carp are established in Australian waters. The common or European carp (generally referred to as 'carp'), the mirror carp and the more ornamental Koi variety. they are illegal in most states in australia. its illegal to import them as well~ KOI being the ornamental type. the biomass of some australian rivers are 90% biomass of carp koi whatever u want to call them they have all been introduced

  • @sooouuuuper Ppl throw all sorts of things dogs/ old cars/garbage /etc etc etc in the rivers too when they dont want them i really didnt want to start an argument with you i just dont want to contribute to a pretty severe problem

I am sorry i made that remark about americans being stoopid in reference to urself it was rude of me but you gotta realize there is a great big world out there NOT just america

  • @sooouuuuper Plus here in America, where all the "stoopid americans" are (I still did not receive an apology), 95% Of Pet Stores Label their bags to NOT release fish into local water systems.

If you think (like a responsible pet owner) Keeping koi in your little garden pond is somehow going to affect a lake or river that could be hundreds of miles away, you need to do some research, and more than that, common sense.

  • @sooouuuuper PLUS! You just said "koi is a type of carp so are goldfish so are shumbkins" So basically your telling me Carp are Carp? So then the Goldfish & Shubunkins that you want to keep are technically Carp too, and technically they are the same as koi, which technically are the same invasive fish in your local waters? So technically there is no difference between Koi, Goldfish, & Shubunkins. You better get an umbrella, cause It's raining cold hard facts.

  • @Arteolike lol lol lol koi and goldfish and shumbinkins are all carp they are just hybridised differently like trees u can have gaint trees in the forest u can have trees in pots that will be stifled and only grow as long as the container and then there is bonsai that are trained etc to be small AND TINY AND THEN THERE ARE DWARF VARITIES OOOPSY SORRY CAPS ok exactly the point carp = koi = goldfish= shumbunkins the difference is that gold fish dont lay thousands of eggs ~

  • goldfish and shumbunkins dont grow to the size of a pony and they arent declared a noxious pest . Ok i seem to have missed a few of ur posts to me so sorry if i have repeated or appear not to have read ur posts because when ur awake im asleep and vice versa

  • I Have said sorry i should not have called u a stoopid american and that was very rude of me ~SORRY ~ its in one of the posts.yes i totally agree with you ppl should be nice to their pets and look after them but not everyone is as responsible no matter wat sort of pet they have ` Technically yes they are all carp but technically they are not made equally if i threw my goldfish in the river a bird would come and pick it up quick but those pony sized KOI it would be impossible

  • @sooouuuuper "ur wrong koi is a type of carp" Didn't I just say that? I said, and I quote "... with me? Koi, is a TYPE of carp," I posted that in my previous comment. Before replying to one of my comments please make sure you read it carefully and understand what I'm trying to say. I have to give you credit for having a strong opinion about something, but I'm going to conclude with this. Koi are pets, if you don't take care of them, don't ever even think of getting them.

  • nice job! i see you use to types of liners what is the first one , its not epdm is it?

  • @TheAteam30294 It's not liner, it's underlayment or underliner, its a 7oz Needle punched Felt, Its a fabric that protects the liner.

  • @Arteolike hey thanks for replying, im getting really encouraged by your video to build a pond of my own!

  • very nice!

  • i diging mine how to do get it so flat

  • @Superthecod Flat shovel...

  • Now you need an automatic "super feeder" koi feeder. :) Hook it to a timer or home automation system.

  • First and last tool to use is always a level.

  • @pondconstruction Hmm, I'm gonna have to say its not a level, its your hands. :)

  • the music makes me want to drown my self in my koi pond

  • @27nicholi No one is stopping you.

  • Great looking pond! Where is the second edition?

  • tony braxton is related to my Aunt! but im not related to her though my mom and her didnt have the same dad soooo.....

  • beautyful! congratulations! and verry good song! :-)

  • dude i 14 to im buiding one can u help he on the filter and stuff

  • Beautiful and better than mine. I have done 3 and am an adult and you are a very smart 14 year old. Great pond!

  • what a great song choice, what the eff!

  • everything was cool,,,until the song!!

  • @malavida77 Yeah I admit, when I made this 3 years ago I threw it together, and I did not pay attention to the meaning of the song. It is very perverted... had to be said :)

  • @Arteolike hahaha,,,,but your pond is excellenttt!! i wish i could have one,,in my house!!

  • This video and how to is awesome until the music at the end, IMO, it wasn't the most appropriate tune for this instructional video. A+ on the step by step, GREAT JOB....

  • How much was the underlayment btw? doesnt mention it in the video

  • @jayjay10995 Like $75 not too much.

  • @Arteolike haha yea thats what i thought to thanks for the advice. If i have anymore qeustions i will talk to you. Thank you. Btw i realised your 10 days younger than me.

  • How did u manage to build that pond under $800? The liner it self is around $600-$700. Im building a pond myself and everything is dug at its a 1400 gallon pond and im stuck on trying to find a good inexpensive liner somewhere.

  • @jayjay10995 I bought my liner for $165, Lifetime warranty, Ebay. I found out a local store sells them for nearly the same price.

  • Comment removed

  • @Arteolike Well that's a great buy considering how big your pond is. my pond is maybe 2 1/2 -3 ft deep and 8 ft wide and 17ft long what size liner should i use? Because this guy i was talking to about it said i need 20' x 80' of liner and i was like WHOOA! that's too much. and the price for that is around $700-$800. This is a DIY for me and im only 16 with a $300-$400 budget because i already have the rocks i need. Do you think you can give me some tips on what pond liner would work best?

  • @jayjay10995 The guy who said you need a 20' x 80' is an idiot. All you need is liner for the bottom + sides + 1' overlap. So 8' + (3' x 2) 6' + 1' =15' & 17' + (3' x 2) 6' + 1' = 24'

Then the same for the waterfall/ stream!

  • i built a simular pond and im only 13 nice pond by the way

  • i just built a pond too! its about 10" deep, two foot wide and five foot long with a tarp as a liner but its totally better than yours! haha nice job man

  • @zookeeper2345 If it's totally better than mine lets see some pictures of your puddle! =D

  • Where do you get the rocks from and how much do they cost for the ton? How many tons did you use?

  • @Osteoporosify I got the rocks from a local rock yard called "Round Tree Rock" They were $75/ Ton. I also got rock from local construction sites, and they were giving away free rock. In total I used maybe 7 - 8 tons.

  • @Arteolike You should never put gravel like that on the bottom of a pond.

  • nice...... but where do you get $700+ from at 14?

  • @si2504 Working my but off all summer... =D

  • This is a beautifull pond, you are very talented.I will be watching this when I start on my own pond. Keep up the good work and dont forget to post more videos:)

  • @kristiesrottenrott Thanks! New video's real soon! Pond season is just getting started!

  • Do you need to have a constant flow of water? Or when you fill it up or you have to do is keep it clean. I was thinking of building one. But do I have to add a water line to the pond?

  • @Mrwww22 You need water flow for surface agitation. If you don't have a surface skimmer, your gonna get a "Slick" on top of the water with oil, dust etc... Waterline is most important, it determines your liner size, water construction, skimmer location. The best way to determine water level is to fill the bare pond up, without rock work yet, stop filling when you like the water level, then mark it. Drain and start installation of pumps, skimmers, waterfalls, and rock work. Easier than it sounds.

  • @Neakiaro Thats why i deleted all the reply's!

  • Great looking pond! Thanks for sharing the build. I built mine much like yours (same size/gallons) which I dug by hand. It also took about 4 months, and that was in sunny So Cal. Look forward to part 2

  • @samsoninthepit Part 2 & 3 are up, enjoy! And it was an average 95F here when i was digging, i dug for 10 minutes rested for 30.. lol

  • Great Job!!! I'm really impressed by your artistic placement of the rocks, and your choice to go with Savio filtration. I hope to see more of your work and sincerely wish you the best. Carl Petite, Owner, Columbia Water Gardens

  • ...is this supposed to be good?

  • @HITSOMEWALLS Um, well in this video, the pond is garbage, in Part 2 & 3 its gets better, i don't know about you, but for me, the pond looks great! Its my first pond, so its not perfect.

  • @Arteolike i have nearly finished my pond, i just need to add some touches and im 14 and did it all myself :)

  • @TheRAD983 Awesome! Will you post some pictures of videos of it?

  • @TheRAD983 me to

  • @HITSOMEWALLS this is a great pond build! Go troll somewhere else you little sorry ass douchebag

  • @samsoninthepit lmao

  • Hey how much did all the rocks/gravel cost you? How many gph on the pump? Any filtration?. You going to put fish in? Break down what you bought and for how much. Im 13 and im redoing my pond next spring

  • @rtran1500 Thanks for watching! Rocks and gravel were total about $350, half of them i got for free. The GPH on my pump is now 4,500, was 5,900. Filtration is a 55 gallon trashcan filled with finely crushed lava rock and filter mat(s) it exits via 5, 1" bulkheads to the waterfall (See part 2); Also 2, 57 watt UV inside skimmer. I already have fish 9 Koi 8 Goldfish and about 100 koi fry. Everything costs under $800. But plans for more filtration and 8 more waterfall lights. Hope I helped! -Arteom

  • @rtran1500 I'd always suggest a raised border for a pond, it keeps leaves from blowing in

  • @poepflater None of my leaves actually "blow in" they fall from the trees, like all leaves do. Leaves are not something to worry about, if you have a good quality skimmer, it's the last of your worries. These ponds without a raised edge look really "Natural, and l like that. Changing a ponds overall design for simply leaves? Just get two skimmers, fish jump out of raised ponds and cant get back in, like a in ground pond, and nets look horrid.

  • Excellent!

One of the things I hate about living in an apartment is not being able to persue projects such as this. I'd love to build myself a Koi Pond or Gazebo in the backyard :(

  • nice :D

  • Awesome but simple. Every video I have seen was much more complex, yours was straight and to the point and can be done "by yourself" good job.

  • @hydrants920 Thanks, and im glad you enjoyed my videos. Take care & God Bless.

    -Arteom

  • amzing

  • @LittleFarmer14 Thanks

  • Inspiring, awsome looking pond and great job with video! Holy Jesus come over to the UK and build our pond! Cute sense of humour as well hahahaa. Still can't believe you're only 14. I hope you make some great revenue out of this if you're interested in that - you'll have college tuition paid off by the time you're 16 from your landscaping company ; ).

  • @tatyanahill Thanks, i am already installing ponds, i got a consolation this Saturday, and i have a job offering at a local pond store. If i lived in the UK i would love to install you're pond!

  • @Arteolike

fabulous, that's great! It's too bad you aren't here in UK, or we really would commission you for our two ponds. We are going to use inspiration from your pond for our outdoor duck pond in hopes of getting something similar. Good luck to you! : )

  • Comment removed

  • Good job man!! I want to see how to install the pipe, if it's possible

    Thanks brother

  • @vanganetus I would be more than happy to show you... but its all underground and done. Visit "ThePondDigger" and they should have a plumbing video that should help you out. thanks for the comment =)

  • Thanks for posting these videos, very helpful. I am having the green algea problem but I do not have the UV lights; looks like they helped you quite a bit.

  • I'm only 15 right now, i have a job, and i plan to save the money i make from my job i have now to make a koi pond when i finish college and have a house :D

How much money did it cost to build this?

  • @chumaster90 I am 15 too, just turned 15 this May. I made this for around $800.00, look at the end of the video and it will show you the prices. But i got a more elaborate waterfall, and so i got like 4 more tons of rocks witch was like another $250.00 plus i got an external energy efficient pond pump (Only like 207 Watts at 4,500 GPH @ 5' Lift) that was like another $120.00, it cost'd $250.00 but i sold my mag drive for $130.00

  • 14 years old my arse!

  • @MrJimbobwae Did you read any of the other comments? On You-Tube i am known as "The pond Kid" Cause i was checking out at Wal*Mart the other day with my mom and someone came up to me and said "Your Voice sounds Familiar, Whats your name?" I said... Arteom, so he was like "Do you happen to have the account name Arteolike?" and i answered yes, on You-Tube so he was like... "Oh so you ARE You-Tubes pond kid! Nice meeting you" I am 15 now, but i was 14 when this video was taken.

  • 14 years old AHAHAHAHHAHA

  • @howdybillybob Yeah i know, hard to believe, but yeah, i actually started making a pond on an entire other side of our backyard, under some oak trees. I made a HUGE hole 5' deep 20' long 35' wide with 4 bottom drains, 3 skimmer, the works. Until (1) i found out the price of all of it put together! (2) I called 811, a utility supplier aka call before you dig. But i dug the hole called them, an inspector came out and saw the oak trees and little did i know i was digging right above some gas lines.

  • Impressed with your excavation. Very neat and tidy. If you put fish in your pond and if leaves fall to the bottom the gavel will haunt you. If you have ever had an aquarium you know. Here are some other money saving tips. Instead of bought underlayment. Use carpet remnants, I got mine from a local carpet store. I built my own bio-filter. I like all the sharing ideas stuff really cool.

  • @tubevoyr I was really close to using carpet, but i got commercial underlayment instead for 3 reasons.

1.) If moisture goes into the carpet, when it rains for example, the carpet will mold up, and be a health hazard, i know cause this happened with our above ground pool.

2.) I had to use commercial underlayment for my lifetime warranty to be valid

    3.) Added peace of mind.

Oh and me too i build a DIY Waterfall filter! See part 2, later on I will make a video of how to build one!

  • i made one for about 200-250

  • @bsebas81 seems impossible. the skimmer itself is around that much, and th liner was $165.00 maybe you build a small pond, with DIY skimmers and filters and maybe a 20 mil pond liner?

  • did you excavate it yourself?

  • @skoorbwerd Yes, By hand with a spade, flat shovel, and a pick, that's it. No special tools, or anyone helping me, it was done by me by HAND, and i actually dug two holes, one i build under an oak tree like three times the size as this and around 5' deep 20' long 35' wide, but i called 811, and they said i couldn't dig there, i had to fill the hole back up, and found another suitable location, when i found out the price of pond liner, i made it smaller plus there was clay at 3' and tons of roots

  • you are 14, where did you get the money from?

  • @co0lboy08 Mowing lawns, and a program called, student self help, plus 5 years of birthday money. =)

  • @Arteolike cool and cool pond :)

  • Really great!

  • @chuzziii Thanks! Did you take a peak at part -2?

  • @Arteolike Yes. I can't wait for part 3!

  • rlly shallow

  • @killerkilleen04 Yes i have to admit the pond is REALLY Shallow, before the dig - it was going to be 6' deep, until i found out the cost of pond liners. And also, i it rock on 32" One day i will rent a jack hammer and take it down to around 5'

  • nice pond

  • @coletrain8666 Thanks. =)

  • I have a pond in my back yard.... I have big rocks around edge but I didn't add gravel. Now I've been told that for fish to breed that the water has to bee healthy. My fish every year it's a mad house. My question is what algacide did you add? I have never added any chemicals, I do have a uv light pump filter deal. The water is clear but the string hair algea grows crazy on my big rocks... Do you have any ideas there for me? Would appreciate that thanks Ryan

  • The algaecide used was called "Algae-Fix" It is not for a long term algae controller, but it works. And for the "sludge" on the gravel or rocks, i used "ThePondDigger" "Debris Scrubber".

They all work, but not really long, make sure you have a good filter, as algae do not like strong flow you may use a larger pump, but if you have a filter, it will eat up most of the nutrients in the water before the algae can use it. Water Plants, like water hyacinths, will work wonders.

  • Do some skimmers come with a pump or do have to buy it separately?Great pond by the way.

  • @degaboiproductions

Most skimmers are sold separately, Because the size, style & manufacture can differ from person to person. If you are buying a pond kit, with a liner and everything, then yes it has the pump in it too.

  • @Arteolike Is it possiable to run a skimmer and a external filter on the same pump or do i need to use a separate pump?

  • Who ever said you need another pump? I have NEVER heard anyone of doing that, =) Good question though. Your in luck, This is how a your pump would be plumed. You choose a pump, weather a external pump or a submersible pump (Make sure they are manufactured for POND use) Then you have a intake line, or "suction" line going into the skimmer pump area, then i line goes into your external filter, then it may exit into a waterfall or just into the pond. If you have anymore ? ask! I love to help =)

  • This was a great video very inspirational. I am looking at doing one 1/2 the size. The rocks really look good. but didn't see the lights. all for under $800?

  • Yes!!! But i think i am going to buy a Savio Living Ponds waterfall filter today, For like $200, so it will bump my price up to $1,000

  • why do packaged pea gravel say made in china

  • @sammy65ify The package is made in China, and maybe the rocks are cleaned, painted or epoxied in China as well, thus Made in China.

    Hope i helped! =)

P.S. If you want to buy pea gravel go to your local rock suppler they sell pea gravel buy the yard, and a yard is typically $50.00 here in California, Much cheaper than paying $3, $4, $5+ For a single 2 cubic foot bag.

  • I absolutely love the step-by-step video. I have been thinking of building my own pond. I have found working in my backyard to be such a sense of meditation. I'm glad to see that I can do something as nice under $1,000. Daytime job n law-enforcement can't wait to get started. Just had new fence installed plan to treat it and stain weather permitting. Thanks again for a great vision brought to life.

  • @MsBlkjustice63

Thanks for the comment, and thanks for protecting our streets! =)

  • Man just 260.00 for the rocks, I thought for that many it would be a lot more. GREAT LOOKING POND BRO.

  • @50JumpChump

Thanks, Rocks were only $75.00/ ton i think i have like 4.5 Tons??

  • i just wanted to say sorry ut my finger slipped and accidedently gave u a 1 star instead of a 5! :( THIS IS WAS GREAT! i love the video!

  • It's ok, I still have an overall 4 star, which is ok. Glad you enjoyed the video, it wasn't anything special. I have A-Lot of stuff i could edit and post, but i don't have the guts because of my stupid high voice, so annoying, can't wait till it gets deeper.

  • Hey i am also 14 i am bout to turn 15 in may and i also want to build my own pond with the lowest prices can you give me some advice???

  • The smaller you make it the less expensive it's going to cost. There is a video of someone on YouTube that made theirs for $300.

  • For $300.00? Oh, i saw that video, one it is not going to last long maybe 10 - years, two it is very small (like you mentioned, the bigger the more expensive!) And no koi. Mine is $800.00, and i have all the ammonites, UV lights, skimmer, underwater lights, 5' tall water fall, and 20' long stream!

  • Really great stuff, was looking into building one at my place. Well need to finish construction of the building first ;)

  • I wish you luck! Hopefully you can make a little sideshow of how it turned out, i would love to see it!!! =)

  • but any way these thing isn't wery important sooo well done !!!!!!

  • hahaha im not talking about for huge pumpse but with 800 w

  • Oh well i didn't know that =) Cause a pump like you are talking about with the same GPH rating would be a real power sucker.

Now this pump i have isn't very efficient either. But thank you for your kind words. I worked hard for a pond. Some adults couldn't imagine digging a pond by them self's, with a single shovel, but i did it and i am 14.

    God Bless and take care.

  • for waterfall pump u can use another pump witch isn't projectet for pond but for well to take water out .the good thing of these is becouse he pumps a lot of water and didn't cost so mutch about 50$

  • Oh drain out pumps! Yeah i know. Even with this energy efficient pump Mag drive i still have to pay like $20.00-$30.00 a month to run it. It goes off on like 350 - 500 Watts.

The pump your talking about can take up a excessive amount of about 1,000 watts, or even more. Ive seen 12 amp pumps and 1440 watts. if running full time you will pay around $120.00 for it.

  • My turn to comment on one of your videos...finally!! Arteom, you did an awesome job, I really mean it. I wish at 14 I had half the talent you have! I will look forward to your future vids. Regards, Mike Gannon THE POND HUNTER

  • Wow! Thanks! Bet you didn't know i was 14! I am planing to redo the waterfall, and maybe breed some koi, sell em, and build a 6,500 gallon pond (on a strict budget of course). I might, just might post a video of my house on Christmas, which i really enjoy decorating!

  • Thanks ! I am going to video the building of my pond. I have 5 short videos on my site now. I still have a long way to go. My pond is going to be very close to the size of yours . I am thinking around 14 feet by 10 feet. Half of it 4 to 5 feet deep and the other half 2 feet deep.

  • Great job . Looking forward to seeing the next video. You were a smart shopper. I will probably spend a lot more when I do mine in the spring. The rocks are gonna be free (but a lot of work) and the labor free (me and my son) at least two shovels are better then one. Not sure where I will buy the liner , skimmer ect...

  • Well go to eBay! They got great Anjon 45 Mil EPDM Liners with life time warranty, and free shipping! For the skimmer... look around on your local crigslist, or on eBay you can buy a Atlantic skimmer's with 6 inch weir opening for $169.99 or a 9 inch weir for $185.00, Those are great buys! With free pond care kit's too from graystone-creations but $125.00 for a Savio with UV's, man i just got lucky! If you need help finding anything for your pond at the lowest price, i can help you no problem!

  • GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY POND BUILDING!
