it depends what you mean. it definetely requires more air than a soprano, but is easier to switch notes and slur. it is also a big weight improvement. i play bari sax, and personally, i LOVE the thing. it gives a soft, srisp sound. sincerely, TehParanoil

@SeldumNumberXXI No not really. Clarinet fingerings from D (in the staff) and up are the same on the sax both octaves. The embouchure is a tad different and the spacing from key to key is a tad different. Other then that you should be ok.

It's a lot harder switching from something like flute to bari, (which is what I did). The bari takes a lot of deep air, and the reed will be about double the size of your clarinet reed-

I disagree. I have played both bass clarinet AND baritone saxophone quite a lot and six out of seven days of the week, I very much prefer bass clarinet, so shut your cakehole! Baritone saxophone can't hold a torch to the bass clarinet.
