Inspiring and full of energy. I hope Elliott Carter gets to hear your performance. Your playing is so compelling I decided to buy the score and give it a go. I removed my earlier comment because any question about performance is answered by the score itself. N.B. Anyone here should take time to visit Sean Chen's official website which has lots of good stuff including some of his compositions. Congratulations on the scholarship from the Great Palindrome himself.
wow. nature gone beserk like a lotta organisms evolving.Chordata .Worms and lotsa watr.Who knows what images this music brings.Digital ? I like Carter he has shown new roads along with countless other.Tippett communicates.
Well done...It's a quite DIFFICULT piece . But when it is already in your head - it goes itself...without thinking "Am I playing the right notes?" or " Where am I ? 3rd page? 5th page?" :) YOU ARE THINKING JUST ABOUT THE IMAGES THIS MUSIC BRINGS FOR THAT MOMENT IN YOUR HEAD.
I hate Carter and his music. But he's a genius. And I love playing what he writes :p
Love how he manages to keep the repeated notes interesting. That is extremely difficult to do with something this fast. And especially when they are so widely spaced! In the hands of a lesser pianist, these widely spaced notes can easily sound arbitrary. Not here!
Booo @ all the negative comments. You all realize that your the equivalent of the people who thought Rameau was dissonant in the 1700's don't you?

I haven't heard this. *Neat*. And well done. I vow to use this as a video response to every dumb ass guitar shred kiddie I find.

I think the piano works of Ligeti were getting too much air time, and Elliott had to put in his two bits.
