No one likes to be manipulated, it's patronizing, or matronizing in your case. Did you ever stop to think that maybe it's the corporate culture rather than the interpersonal communication that is at fault? Good policy eliminates the need for this kind of sexist treatment.
Totally agree with you. Women are being taught that they are the "handlers" for men. It's gotten to the point that it's beyond condescending, the climate is that women BELIEVE it's their obligation to tell me how to act.
