I am severely claustrophobic, and I just watched this movie not too long ago. I felt as if I were buried in the coffin with Ryan Reynolds, and I got the panic attacks and the sensation of suffocating and everything else. This guy is a great actor, regardless of what anyone says. And I watched Green Lantern and I liked it a lot too!

The people who where looking for him run into an insurgen, who tells them were he is if they let him go. They rush to the site and dig, They find nothing. Turns out, the inserggon lied and he dies of suffication.

Little trivia for ya - this used to happen quite often. (burring people alive) thinking they were dead of course. So often that they had people stand watch in Graveyard which is where the term, "Graveyard shift" came from. They could tell also by scratch marks on coffins when discovering old unmarked graves! They sometimes would tie a bell to a string all the way in the coffin just in case.

I'd have to say the most powerful part of the movie is when Ryan's character, Paul has basically given up all hope. He confronts that guy claiming to be looking for him, acknowledging that he has no chance, and then goes on to make the video of his last will for his wife and son before setting the lighter on his chest, closing his eyes and waiting to die. That just knocked the wind right out of me, cause that's not the easiest scene to pull off and he did it perfectly.

@RevolutionFist Kick the coffin lol he had hundreds of pounds of dirt above him held only by those wooden planks. And im pretty sure he tried cutting the coffin once, but it was so slow and ineffective it would take days to open a gap. Which would only make more dirt seep in.
