Incredible video of Edie!!!!! I dare anyone to listen to Edie & say Sienna sounds anything like her! Thanks for making this great vid & posting it for all of us who love Edie...it is awesome!
Amazing..... the best video of edie sedgwick ive ever seen... documentaries are so bland, but the clips, her voice and the music just keeps you interested. ; )
she's kinda of goth punk before there was such style, maybe that's what Andy saw in her. Same like Nico, but american and more rebel "i'm gonna do my own thing". Tragique, being a superstar might be over rated, but she's 28 and younger forever for all of us who are still here
I agree with you, Apple. I'd never seen anyone wear makeup or dress the way she did in the 60's; it was definitely something nobody had seen before and I think people were so intrigued by it. I can look at the same pictures of her over and over and still be amazed!
@apples13able Maybe that but mostly he was attracted to her wealth and beauty and any way he could use her to his advantage. It was all about Andy and his "arm candy" which was Edie and if she got too Irritating he threw her away. Well she at least she left the factory of her own accord. You do have a point:o)

Edie speaking over herself? Why, that's never been done! It's completely original and doesn't make her out to be crazy at all, something she wasn't. Congratuawful.
this video looks like a composite of Edie drawn from all of the Warhol documentaries- but most pictures and narratives can be found in the movie Ciao! Manhattan- just buy that movie and the Andy Warhol documentary and you'll have most of it.
I will definitely be looking.. but what I was really wanting to know is who has the original "Edie Leopard Coat". The one from Beauty #2. Does anyone know what happened to it or if it was auctioned, lost, etc.?
@Brelinka128 Edie mentioned that a lot of her stuff was stolen by a bunch speed freaks... Some say it was Paul America stole it from her suite at the Chelsea Hotel. In end Edie was robbed of everything, her furs, expensive jewelery, even her life.
@Brelinka128 I read somewhere that Paul America or one of his speed freak friends stole it. But this was when Edie was down and out, stung out on heroin in1968 or '69, or maybe '70. Also, Edie had a habit of setting fire to her hotel rooms, so I doubt the leopard fur still exists. I expect most of her artwork, audio tapes, clothes and furs burned up. But some of her jewelry might have survived. Her husband, Michael Post, might still have Edie's things.
@Brelinka128 if i recall correctly (from Edie: An American Biography), it was lost in the...2nd fire she accidentally started? maybe the 1st, but more likely the 2nd.
Ive watched a lot (and I mean a LOT) of youtube videos about Edie and I have to say this is absolutely one of my favorites. I love her style, her beauty, her voice, and her honesty.... you captured all of it in 5 minutes. Thank you for posting this video. You really did an incredible job!
This was really interesting I love the part where she says fashion was created by "freak out people" so true. Another funny thing is how I can see some of what she was wearing in this video in style today. The dangle earrings, the black tights. The animal print coat all can be seen on the runways today. Fashion does not really change it just takes a vacation and comes back sooner or later. Fashion is also fickle, she wears tights and a tee shirt out and all of a sudden it's a fashion statement.
very good, kept my attention. The only thing I want to criticize constructively is your flow. Perhaps you could have blended the takes a little better by using silence as a connection...? I really liked it though, I'm the biggest Edie fan. Can I ask how well you did in your grade?
i think she's a little hard on herself when it comes to her make up. Like i understand she was maybe insecure of the way she looked so she wore make up to cover it but i dont think thats the whole reason....i think she wanted to be glamorous too
Yes, it was also insecurity. She said she made a mask out of her face because she didn't realise how beautiful she was. She also said she cut her hair off and wore heavy makeup after the death of her brothers.

It probably got stolen. Edie got robbed a lot when she was drugged out of her mind. A good book to check out is the one by Ultra Violet.

no, she did not start the fashion trend with the eye make-up. That was already a 60's fashion trend.

She dyed her hair and put on pale makeup to look like Andy. Her eye makeup also started a new fashion trend. But maybe she was insecure.
