  • hi plz see it???

  • best batsman world have ever had

    the most underrated cricketer ever.

  • ROHAN KANHAI?? Sounds like Indian name how come playing for W.I.

  • And he was 40 years old........fantastic

  • Interesting to see that Thommo is quite manageable on English wickets.

  • @AIMANZUL1 All bowlers are managable on crappy english wickets if the ball isn't swinging.

  • brilliant strokeplay - did not know he was such good.

  • im aussie , rate bradman as best , but the great sobers and richards could be better , who knows for sure , how do you beat sobers 254 against oz or richards destroying oz in 70s and 80s with no helmut , christ whats happened in the windies lately , where are the successors to these immortals.

  • Bradman is by far the greatest baysman to play the game if he played the same amount of matches as Tendulkar he would have twice as many runs and hundreds and would be averaging around 150. And all that with half as much protective equipment as sachin and on uncovered pitches somthing which sachin has probably never played on.

  • You make it all sound so easy. Your man was great for his era. Sachin for his, Richards for his, etc etc. I think you get the picture.

  • and add pressure of billion expectations, different bowling attacks(not just england), more cricket in an year, sledging, more discipline in bowling lines and lets see where bradman stands.....i am not saying bradman is not great but bradman himself said....a champion in an era in a champion in any era....bradman is great and so is sachin

  • @shaikeleyas Come on mate all the greats say Bradman is the best ever so for once can an indian admit that an indian isn't the best.

  • @DKLillee355 IT's not about nationality. There are many people who seriously question Bradman's coveted position as the world's greatest batsman ever. For a man who played in only two countries and 4 opponents in his whole career, many feel it is an undeserved honour.

Same with George Headley, Hobbs, Sutcliffe and other great pre-war players. That was an amateur era and comparing across generations may leave the professional post-war players feeling undone.

    ...{contd}..

  • @Imrankniazi ..{contd.}

Graeme Pollock, Garfield Sobers, Greg Chappell, Viv Richards, Barry Richards, Ken Barrington, Gavaskar and Allan Border -- all played in a more professional era against great bowling attacks and performed brilliantly around the world. Any of these could have a valid claim that they are superior than Bradman simply because they had a better chance to prove their skills on a larger scale. See what I mean? Comparing amateurs to professionals is not a great idea!

  • @Imrankniazi what has the number of opponents and the countries he played in got to do with anything? If anything it strengthens the case for him to be heralded as the best batsmen ever. The fact is, Bradman's opponents were the best there was. He played most tests against England. That would be like playing most of your tests against the West Indies in their heyday or Australia in theirs. How many players today have boosted their records scoring easy runs against weak test playing nations?

  • Bradman played test cricket against India, West Indies ,England and South africa. Read the game son..before you start talking.

  • If you call a couple of series against India and the West Indies, "played test cricket against", then you are most correct. Explain it better, son. You make it sound as though the man played all his life against India and the West Indies. Very misleading. Bradman was great for his era. Full stop. Cheers from America.

  • Sachin Tendulkar is the world's greatest batsman. Bradman was great, no doubt, but he only faced a single bowling attack of the English. Sachin has destroyed each and every bowler in this world scoring 13000+ test runs. He is the best !!!

    1) Sachin

    2) Bradman

    3) The rest of them

  • Sachin is just a run-accumulating jack-ass who epitomoses the mediocrity of today's game. For instance, Mohinder Amarnath's 4378 runs have far greater value than Sachin's 12K+ runs. Even Sourav has played more important innings.

Obviously many pro-Sachin retards have no clue to any measure of cricketing history. They are only good at making sweeping statements purely on irrelevant stats.

    Long Live Mediocrity!

  • Sir Don rated him pretty highly! As do all the commentators and broadcasters (including Benaud and Chappelli). And all the bowlers (including one S. Warne) and fellow players. I suppose yours is the only opinion that matters, though!!! Consider yourself a genius....Best

  • I dont understand. Why do you even rate Don Bradman? If he only faced a single bowling attack as you state, then he should not be rated at all.

Sachin, Lara, Dravid, Ponting, Kallis, all great batsman of this era. Why compare different eras. Seemed such a waste of time.

Bradman was the best of HIS era. We all have opinions. Obviously, you are an Indian. And you should have a right to think that Tendulkar is the best. But dont disrespect the opinion of others. ..Best...

  • "-possibly the greatest batsman of all time"????

Mate, Kanhai was definitely a great player, but anyone that says he was better than Don Bradman is kidding themselves.

    Best batsmen of all time:

    1. Don Bradman

    2. Daylight

    3. The rest

  • Don Bradman was the greatest of his era.

(i.e.The best when he played). It is difficult for me to judge the man when he played 95 percent of his career against one opponent. He was quite dominant, certainly, but the game has evolved quite a bit since Sir Don left the scene. I will admit that he was quite masterful. The best ever, I just don't know about that. For now, I will say that he was the best of his era and leave it at that. Australians will not agree! Just one man's opinion. Cheers.

  • his shots are very classy ... one of a kind.

  • Rohan Kanhai

-possibly the greatest batsman of all time

I'm English, and as a child, always remember watching him on TV or listening on radio

to me in TOP 5 of all time greats, and he was getting on a bit (notice grey hair)

when he tore Thomson, Lillee etc apart,

    -with such elegance too

  • if you're going to say the fielding then was not as good as now, what about the batsman having no protection then ?

  • "what a glorious shot" Love it. We need West Indies on top again, they should clone a couple of the "Great" for the West Indies team.

  • Chanders has been in great form but he is no Kanhai. Kanhai was truly the master. Gavaskar has stated that Rohan Kanhai was the best batsman he's even seen.

  • in a interview gavaskar said he put name his son rohan just for rohan kanhai.

  • that's true. actually Gavaskar puts three of his most favorite players' name to his son. So his son's full name became Rohan (Rohan Kanhai), Jay (M.L.Jayshima) Vishwa (G.R. Vishwanath) Gavaskar.

(which may be a bit of overdoing, but anyway its his son, so he can play with his name).

  • hey Rohan is my name too !

  • Beautiful strokes from a master.

  • My first action hero....

  • Rohan Kanhai is the best guyanese cricketer. man was old n still lashing shots

  • maybe but shiv chanderpaul is up there wit him...have u seen him bat lately...hes been on fire

  • no one in their mind goes to the cricket ground to see a shivnarine chanderpaul bat....dont ever compare him to rohan kanhai ....your are comparing a handsome cougar to an ugly crab...and guess who the crab is!.....numbers are not everything....

  • thecrucifer..it seems you have not watch cricket in a while chanderpaul as been the rock of the westindies tem right now.if it wasnot for him westindies would be worst then ireland..chanderpaul as a avg of 48.70 while kankni add 47.53 so you can compare the two..and is avg might get better by the end of is career..

  • I cant explain it to you anymore than I already have. Rohan Kanhai was a master batsman. He batted with Charm, grace, class, panache, talent, skill. He was unique. Chanderpaul is a dogged type. A fighter. Kanhai did not need to be a fighter (though he was), he was blessed with what I believe is known as raw talent....Best....

  • Ricky ponting or Michale Clarke would have caught either of those catches (at least claimed them on 1st bounce).

  • well in the 70's fielding standards weren't as gud as today.. compare aus fielding to today's south africa's fielding

  • wow...check out the screen in the back and the score board...those were da days...i think kanhai is in queens? kallicharan upstate ny...

  • The peerless Sunny Gavaskar rated him as the best batsman he ever saw - slightly above Sobers and Vivian and Barry Richards, who he rates at number 2. ----In my opinion, the most underrated cricketer ever.

  • @ARKN06 so he rated the other 3 as number 2 and Rohan number 1.

  • Though Don Bradman is considered the overall greatest batsman ever, Gary Sobers the overall greatest allrounder ever, and Vivian Richards the most devastating, entertaining, feared, innovative and majestic batsman ever, Kanhai is considered by many to be the most naturally talented ever.

  • west indies was fierce

  • great match
