  • then again you have the modules made by the community

  • Anyone played Mysteries of Westgate? It was apparently another module for NWN2.

  • So fucking epic game with so fucking epic music.

  • Art.

  • I disliked some of the mechanics of MotB, but it had a great feel, and I loved the NPC companions. Reminded me of Planescape: Torment

  • Yes abusing the trade system in NWN2 SoZ was the best thing about that game. I was so rich. bhahahahaha

  • It's funny how all over the place in terms of quality the NWN series is.

    NWN1 OC: Absolutely godawful.

    NWN1 SoU: Slightly above average.

NWN1 HotU: Fantastic, worth buying the diamond edition just for this game.

NWN2 OC: Pretty damn good, actually.

NWN2 MotB: Better than Fallout. No, really. If you buy one fantasy RPG in your life, make it this one (if you buy two, get Planescape: Torment also).

NWN2 SoZ: Fairly crap, though breaking the gold amount by abusing the trading system was fun.

  • I didn't like NWN2, ,but MoTB, good God... that was an emotional, amazing game. What a story. Amazing how by the end of the game, you weren't even sure which character you were playing, yourself, or the masked man. I also will never forget the hag's lair, the hag singing, (I was stuck there for over a day), and the final hags coven, with them creepily sleeping suspended in air. What a game, what a game.

  • @Ne0mega

I actually enjoyed NW2 as a fun little fantasy game - but agree with you on MotB, it is a true work of Art.

  • @Ne0mega

Original campaign was pretty typical. But expansion set was awesome :o atmosphere and all.

  • @Jackie113thedarkness i was thinking just thesame!

  • first 20 secs are stuck in my head... i love it! :D

  • I love this music =^__^=

  • Just beat MotB and ordered SoZ online. Can't wait! Also... Thanks for uploading these!

  • So soothing... need to lie down and... and rest... destroy universe later...

  • This was amazing.

  • The thing that I liked about Mask of the Betrayer was the random bits of lore that I knew from the load screens in the previous games. I knew what the Wall of the Faithless was before I played the expansion. NWN does a good job of foreshadowing / getting you involved in the rich history of the Forgotten Realms

  • Mask of the Betrayer is one very special game. So creative and moving, it's really a masterpiece. It deserves to be named within the top RPGs, but it's sooooo underrated!

  • This kind of Rpgs doesn't exist anymore,. Stuff like this expansion is underground, the mass is more involved in cinematic experience and more graphics stuff, the kind of gameplay of nwn 2 + expansions is not for everyone, and sadly those games are disappearing.

I liked also Storm of Zehir, it was very hardcore on the gameplay mechanics, but for the story part Mask of the Betrayer is a jewel.

  • your're right man. Nowadays ppl just care about cinematic graphics and presentation, but they forget how deep the experience can be without explosions as fuck, but a mystical story and some kick ass characters. The good old days just ruled, new games are soulless.

  • Mask of the betrayer was actually really fun to play although twas more fun to finish it than play it :D

  • It's relaxing but it brings back memories of Myrkul x_x that sequence was frickin' scary.

When a game can move people like that, you know it's a work of art.

  • agreed! That god so hecking annoying, I didn't kill him because the knights were going to smash me in one minute..

  • @TriniKnight01

ya man, this game WAS a work of art... the music, the emotion... it was like a play you would pay hundreds to see

  • @TriniKnight01 yes m8 you are right and his voice was so unreal like the voice of a man who was suffering a milenium realy epic!

  • So calm and spiritual...a good music for meditation i can tell you that!!!

  • Relaxing.

  • Beautiful.

  • The Soundtrack of MotB is one of the best I heard in the last few years. It's rare that even the soundtrack makes you to want to go on with the game!

I also love the "Dreamscape Anya" and "Fugue Combat" piece. "Vault of the Death God" is my absolute favorite.

  • You, my friend, have good taste. :)

  • @Seraphin1983

those are my three other favorites too. I was glad to hear a magical RPG not afraid to mix some electronic sound in its soundtrack.

  • this one so mysterious nice.

  • Ohhh nice one~!
