Makes me want to let my lawn grow really tall, buy a scythe and cut the lawn with it, although it might be quicker to do my grass with the mower. still looks cool though, where have all the classics things gone...
HEY thank you , my daughter and i see the old style scythe reaper thingys at antique sales sometime , it was hard for me ot explain how it works , but now I can show her!
Go for an "Austrian" scythe also! It is not a brand, or necessarily from Austria, it is an Austrian style scythe, which generally means that it is not quite as heavy as the old American scythes.
oh you have so much to cut....

This is a good video of true work. I like the ducks running around in the back ground.

I love that you can hear the tingting ting from the blade on the return stroke as it rides over the stubble. Thanks.

Yes, it does. And once you got the hang of it, it´s much more enjoyable, too.
And the grass is properly cut, not just ripped off.
They are usually sold in stores with agricultural and gardening tools. But go for quality! a bad tool is a nuisance.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
It doesn`t cut grass faster than a Stihl FS350 or a Husqvarna 335RX :)

I would not bet a cow on that statement.
And the scythe is much more sexy to use.
